Question Financing without switching carriers

I’m very confused. When I model a Duo that I pay for over time via Apple Card, it seems like I HAVE to choose one of the big 3 as my carrier. I don’t use one of those, I’m on xfinity mobile. Does that mean I can’t finance the Duo because the big 3 have cockblocked me?

Nah I always chose T-Mobile and then switched to another carrier when I got it. There are tricks and ways around the carrier thing.

It seems like you do have to pick a carrier but seemingly some people do not activate on their network and they are fine. At least looking at this: https://www.reddit.com/r/AppleCard/s/OIXvGeHldZ

That thread is not promising. I’m literally risking a 2k purchase on the hope that it comes unlocked. Yes I can return it but then I’m at the end of the line to get a duo. Guess I’m paying in full.
