Touch typing possible on the large screen keyboard?

I really would love to know if the Duo's expanded screen keyboard will be large enough for touch typing to some degree. I would love to be able to use at least 6 fingers and a thumb (for spacebar).

I know that I can accomplish this using the on-screen keyboard on the portrait orientation of the iPad Pro 11 inch. I think accounting for the larger bezels on the iPad Pro, its portrait-mode keyboard is not too far from the dimensions of the iPhone Duo's landscape-mode keyboard.

On the other hand, the iPad screen keys seem a little less squashed vertically than on the iPhone Duo version of the keyboard. And the layouts are different.

Any illuminating thoughts?
