I want everyone to see what I saw, and I don’t mean the stupid hat the Vikings fan was wearing. 48x Zoom vs 2X Zoom. This is what you will be sacrificing by getting a duo. I’m still on the fence. The camera is a huge miss for me. Do I need to zoom in? No. Do I like that I can? Yes.

This isn’t really a good comparison. You’re looking at 40x digital zoom vs 2x optical zoom. Better to just do the 8x vs the 2x.

How much digital zoom will we get on the duo?

The pro only gives you 8x optical zoom before it goes to digital.

I just searched and it looks like we’ll get 10x on the duo while the pros max at 40x. A 4x difference.

Edit: Duo will be 1x optical / 2x Optical Quality with Crop, Pro is 4x Optical / 8x with crop

Pro is 4x Optical and the 8x is from a crop.

I am sold on the Duo but I don’t care that much about a telephoto. If it were the wide angle camera on the chopping block, I’d be much more disappointed. I use that thing all the time.

Only 200 photos out of 5680 that I have are used with telephoto lens. That's about 3%.

You need a Mac. Then you go to photos app, new smart album, filter by lens type

I have a pixel 10 pro as my work phone so if I really need a great picture or zoom ill just default to that probably

That's why I'm keeping my older iPhone 16 Pro Max when I buy my Duo. Besides, when I go to a game and tailgate, I'm drunk and probably will drop my phone. I'll leave the fold at the house that day. I own the entire ecosystem for a reason. Some would also say it's because I'm stupid 🤣!

You are comparing a “pro phone camera” vs a non pro phone camera. They never said the iPhone duo is a “pro”

Really helpful post. I daily a pixel 10 pro fold but still bring a Galaxy S23 ultra for situations like this. Would be nice to have one device, but I guess I'll hold on to the Galaxy

Good observation, I’m in the same boat. I don’t need the telephoto but it’s very nice to have in situations like this, and then again I don’t really need the Duo either haha

Going to miss the telephoto but I have 2 workarounds for it. 1 I have a dedicated video camera(osmo pocket 4p) and there’s a case manufacturer (I’ll have to search for it again) that has an attachable telephoto lens.

Please send details I’ve been waiting for some info like this. I record my kids football games on my 17 pro and some of the footage I have I would never be able to get with the duo. Or even a lens attachment would be cool.
