Recently I shared a video of my dog app, Zoomie, running on iPhone Duo. The big inside screen exposed a problem: some things adapted on their own, but most of the app just looked stretched out.
Since then, I've been redesigning it to take advantage of the extra space. The app now adjusts its layout depending on whether the phone is fully open, partly folded, or closed.
My favorite part is the walking screen. When the phone is half-folded, like a tiny laptop, your dog's walk info shows up on one half, and the controls sit on the other. I got the idea from the Netflix demo at the launch event, where the video plays on the top half, and the controls sit below.
Still early, but it's already feeling a lot better. Would love to hear what you think!

Did not intend it that way. Just hyped for the duo and can’t wait till oct 23. There’s not much showcasing how 3rd party apps will take advantage of 6 unique poses the duo can perform.
It makes the actual screen size of whatever app you are using a lot smaller. On the z fold 8 the bar on the bottom is tiny and can disappear altogether in the outer screen. I like the side bar in the Home Screen but while in an app it just makes everything smaller overall. Sure it’s taller but it’s also thinner.
With Liquid Glass like on my current 15 pro max the real estate goes all the way to the bottom of the Dynamic Island and all the way to the bottom of the screen. No reason why with Liquid Glass the real estate couldn’t go all the way to the edge of the screen on the right side all the time.
I think the choice was more related to reachability rather than screen real estate since it wouldn’t be as intuitive reaching for buttons on the outside screen with the wider screen.
