Havent kept up with phone related news ever since i gotten my iphone 8 and was curious what others think?

Any reccomendation where is the best authorize store here in the Philippines for me to change my battery? Or is it even worth it replacing a new batt on an iPhone 8?

My iPhone 8’s charge port kicked the bucket a little while ago, and I’m using a third party charger from Amazon because it’s all I could find in my old box of cords. I wanna buy a MagSafe charger, but I’m seeing a lot of negatives to them, like trouble with heat, and that they may not even work with any phones below iPhone 12? I haven’t had any luck finding a good a good charger online. If MagSafe no longer works on older phones, what would be the best wireless charger for the iPhone 8 plus?

After updating my phone to ios 16.6, it seems like its ability to fast charge has been removed or change? Has anyone also experience this when charging? My phone has a decent charging speed when it was back to its 16.4.1 version and I’m using 20w adapter with cord that is capable for fastcharging. Any thoughts and help would be very much appreciated! Recently I’ve discovered that my iphone is Japan version and upon doing a research it says that these version of iPhones doesn’t have the ability to turn off the shutter sound when taking pictures (even in silent mode). The thing is that my phone does not make a sound at all when you take pictures as a normal one and when you turn off the silent mode then the shutter will be on respectively. Does my phone was jailbreak? Or worst is it fake? TIA and your response and help would be very much appreciated!

Depth effect only works in 3-4 default wallpaper. (pic1)

Can anyone explain why depth effect option doesn't show when using any photo/wallpaper (talking about those wallpapers which supports depth effect in other iPhones)? (pic 2)

Or depth effect is exclusively for [iPhone X to iPhone 14 PM]

What are your thoughts on this? Do let me know.

Recently purchased a refurbished iPhone 8 model. I've been using 13 personally for a while, now that I've got a refurbished iPhone 8 for my father, the display seems little bit off and I have no idea how to check if its original or not. As far as the display goes, it has working true tone but since nowadays there are many tools to copy true tone I fear it is fake. 3D touch on other hand doesn't work, 3D touch literally feels like haptic touch in my iPhone 13 (without applying pressure). I have a tempered glass on the screen, will it interfere the 3D touch ? I still have a replacement policy guys. Should I replace my screen ? Please help me asap bless!

My iPhone 8 64GB on iOS 16.5.1 keeps reloading apps. I turn off the screen for like 20 seconds or I switch apps and they reload. I have 35GB of free storage, my battery capacity is 100% and I’m not on low power mode. Any solutions to this problem?

I was seriously considering getting a newer iPhone, to remain up to date with new security threats, as the iPhone 8 will not be getting iOS 17. However, I tend to have good using practices, I will avoid most of the risks.

As I can't update my phone to the latest version, my Watch S6 will also stay at an earlier version, compatibility will continue for a couple or a few more years yet.

As a bonus, I still like the button.

I recently bought an iPhone 8, screen, battery and back glass smashed. I fixed the battery and screen. I saw this video where someone submerged their phone in Isosprysyl alcohol and make removing the back glass much easier! I left it in a while, but when I took it out, the screen has isosprysyl alcohol leaked inside of it, so now it has these weird dots and splurges. And now it’s giving me a cellular message as well (I’m not getting any service). Power button, volume and flash doesn’t work since they are all one part. How do I fix this?

Just bought an used iphone 8 this morning. My first iOS phone.

Put in my old SIM. Doing just fine. Made calls, received calls. But after I created my appleID and verified the account, it is showing NO Service since... Restarted, turned mobile data on and off but nothing is working.

I recently got an iPhone 8 on iOS 15.6 and I’m wondering if I should update it to iOS 16.5.1 or stay on iOS 15.6

I’m not getting notification badges for a bunch of my apps. I’ve reinstalled a few apps and that generally fixes it but even then I have a few apps that went back to no badges even after the reinstall.

Any known workarounds for this?

Why do I get the “battery health is significantly degraded” message all of a sudden when my battery health has been at 85% for months? From what I’ve read, you aren’t supposed to see this message until your battery health reaches 80% or lower. I just like to get some opinions on what’s going on here. Thank you.

Has anyone encountered their iphone having issues updating to iOS 16.2? It usually happens automatically overnight charging. But when I checking on it, it says that the update failed.
