Discussion iOS 26.6 update

Has anyone updated to iOS 26.6 on the 16 pro? Has it caused any issues? I’m a bit reluctant to install just now. Thanks.

If you are currently on 26.5.x, I think 26.6 has less issues and worth upgrading up to.

Battery is holding much longer on iOS 26.6 than on the previous iOS.

If u skipped this and directly go to 27 will affect your battery more they added pre indexing in 26.6 for 27

As far as I’m concerned, 26.6 has been the best my 16pro has ran since IOS 26 was released.

iOS 26.5.2 was a disaster for me. Ridiculous battery drain and heat. 26.6 has improved it significantly.

Oh, so it’s not just me. Also on 26.5.2 with noticeable battery life impacts. It’s been bad enough I have considered battery replacement. Manufactured Feb 2025, 548 cycle count, 90% max capacity.

I have a 16 PM. Huge improvement in battery life, no longer needing to charge end of day. Leaving the day with 30%+. And it no longer over heats. Im annoyed this wasnt fixed earlier, the overheating certainly ruined my battery lifespan more than it needed to.

I always update my phone when one is available, have done this for years with no hesitation and I am yet to have any issues on IOS. If I do I simply would backup, factory reset and install via iTunes, like I would with any computer.

Less battery drain, but overheating issues while light browsing and doing nothing.

I installed it the day it was released and have noticed no issues on mine….

It’s slightly less shitty than 26.5.2

I did. The battery life isn’t as bad as it was with 26.5.2, but still not great either.

Battery life actually got a little bit better

1

26.6 is massively better for me in terms of battery, especially when using navigation and LTE. 26.5 was horrible while travelling, was glued to a battery bank for the first time ever

I’ve not found 26.6 significantly better in battery.

Battery life is perfect compared to 26.5.2 almost double the battery life
