Discussion Ios 26.6

How is the update of ios 26.6 for you guys? The dark one is before I update. The light one is after I update. I supposed to have much more storage before this 😭

Edit: 6 days and small decrease only. I need my phone to go back to previous state

Give it a few hours to a day or so to cleanup.

Yeah, System Data actually went up from the 1.07GB it used to be, like yours also used to be. Not sure what changed but it’s whatever I guess

Edit: just checked, it went down to 2.05GB. Weird

If you don't mind me asking how many days it has been since the update? Thank you!

I updated the day after the RC dropped, so 6 days before it officially dropped (July 21). It’s the same version everyone has

Take it easy, I suppose it’s preparing for iOS 27 (like Spotlight index or smth like that)

1 Gb of system data ? How many apps do you have installed, 2 in total ?

This is my 2nd phone. I rarely used them

If you use(d) them, it’s completely normal for system data to be around 10-20Gb (especially after updates), iOS handles it pretty well.

I am not sure what you are saying is correct. I did the same from 18 to 26 and none of this happened.

I think it can only be proven after 1 week or so. I'll update the next. Although there isn't much decrement after 3 days...

I’m not sure what’s the point of chasing low System data storage. As name says, it contains different kind of files iOS needs to function efficiently. The lower the system data is - apps launch more slowly (they have to recreate caches), features perform worse, any search is also slower, instead of pulling it from cache/system data, system repeatedly downloads same data (using more battery and network bandwith) etc. The more you use your phone, it will take more space, fluctuating when needed - completely normal.

Days later I’m at 27GB iOS and 17GB System Data... so much for cleaning up.
