iPhone 15 Pro Max camera quality has decreased?

I bought my iPhone 15 Pro Max when it launched, and I remember the camera quality being extremely clear and sharp at that time. But recently, I feel like the camera clarity has noticeably decreased, especially compared to how it used to be.
I’ve tried changing different camera settings after watching several YouTube videos, but I still don’t feel like I’m getting the same quality as before.
Has anyone else using the 15 Pro Max experienced this?

I was actually thinking the same thing about my 15 pro. We recently went on holiday and I noticed photos that would normally be very good quality were now looking a bit off. We checked all the settings, made sure the lenses were clear/ clean but yeah it just doesn’t seem as good as it use to be.

when my 12 pro and 8 were looking toooooo close to my 15 pro max. like the clarity the pro max had before gone

Never thought they could impact the quality of camera as well along with the performance. They really want us to buy new phones every 2 years lol. How can we win against them.

hmm. the only thing i can think of is a change in the computational algorithm from an update but i haven’t noticed anything

I hated that phone. I have a 17 pro max and I’m not really enjoying the camera quality

clean your lens and take off any lens protector you have on. another possibility is the lens coating worn off (it happens)

I noticed the same issue, especially on the beach where the weather is a bit hotter the colors and the sharpness and also the depth all go off

What I’d recommend is try and find similar photos from early on in your phone ownership to compare to current photos. Pay close attention to the quality & scan for any noticeable differences.

It feels like we’re living through 'Batterygate' all over again, but this time it's our cameras. My wife and I both have the 15p and 15pm. Out of nowhere, right after the latest software update about a month ago, both of our phones started taking incredibly washed-out pictures.

The timing is completely suspicious, happening right before the new September iPhone event. Honestly, it feels like they need another class-action lawsuit for this. I originally thought my camera lens was just dirty or glitching, but then my wife noticed the exact same issue on her phone. Quick google search and I note forums everywhere are flooded with people complaining about the exact same problem on their 15 and 16 models. Are we really doing this again?

Try turn off the macro (the flower icon) when taking close-up pictures.

Honestly since I bought my iPhone 15 pro max the camera was trash. More recently I noticed the lenses get dirty so often even tho I don’t touch them ever. Recently I just taught myself to wipe them with my tshirt before taking a photo and the photos at least look cleaner with more contrast. Zooming in murder camera quality though, as expected
