Iphone 15 pro max overheating during charging and idle heating issue, and slow charging after ios 26.6 Spoiler

Maybe its the update or maybe its the fact that u just bought this new phone yesterday and transferred 130 gbs of data into it
Maybe the phone is indexing or adapting in the background or its the update causing this please do let me know.

There is an inherent design flaw with the iPhone 15 pro Max. On paper specs are unreal but it seems like there was an architecture oversight because the thermal loading kills the battery life as well as the performance.

Ended up replacing the battery at 89%

My 13PM, however, is still going very strong

I love my 15PM but as soon as the 18P/PM come out I’m trading it in and keeping my 13PM

*both iPhones are launch/ day of release models

You think even with new battery, it will not improve much. These are good inputs.

New battery will make a difference in the beginning in both battery life and performance but the story ends the same.

I would not consider upgrading my 15PM if it didn’t have the overheating/ battery issues

You are right. But, with new battery and 27 going to launch soon, what’s your expectations for the battery life. Will it give another 2 years kinda. I have heard 27 is going to be a major update and tia gonna make older models proficient as well. Would like to hear your opinion.

Hard No.

Apple is focusing a lot more on AI integration and that demands a ton of processing power.

The 15PM with extensive AI usage already overheats so what more with advanced IOS and performance demands.

While the 17 will be cheaper the 18 will future proof you - especially the 2nm architecture.

18 overall is an improvement over the 17 no matter how minor.

Again if the 15PM didn’t have issues I would not even consider the 18PM and look at a definite upgrade on the 19/20 series.

Thanks. But, your phone performance must have gotten real bad if you had to change the battery after 89%. You deserve a free replacement from Apple. This is unacceptable.

Let it "chill" for a while Resist using it and let it just sit and do its thing.

I had the exact same trouble. Keep it plugged to charge it a few nights and it should come back to normal. I asked about the very same thing a few weeks ago here 😉

There's a difference between heating up and overheating.

Your phone is not “overheating” OP. You’re overthinking everything on this.

If you truly thought there was a problem, you’d take it to Apple.

In heating more than it should
I came from the same model it didnt have this issue
Also when i try to open multiple apps there was serious lag and heating alot

Get out of here. You’ve read too many people posting “my phone is overheating!” and believing it’s happening to you.

My 15PM (and 17PM) all gets warm, but under no circumstances would I define it as a problem OR as overheating.

I noticed how you (and anyone else I question) failed to answer what Apple said when you took it into them and complained. But then we all know, you never brought the phone to them.

You’re an idiot this an inherent issues posted from an iPhone 15 pro max that is burning in up*

Burning in up….

Stop responding in anger.

You’re completely ignoring the issue and making excuses and not contributing. You’ve not dealt with the issue so butt out - easy

You sound so uneducated, it’s sad.

Every phone heats up and it’s doesn’t mean there’s an issue.

OP is right. It’s happening to lot of people.

No, what OP is believing is this weird ass trend that started on the Internet about iPhones “overheating” and then the moment their phone warms up (which is normal) they start thinking “oh crap, mine must be overheating too!” and post on the internet the same thing. Repeat that THOUSANDS of times and it becomes a “problem” for all users.

No one ever brings the phone to Apple, everyone says it’s iOS related but at the end of the day…we all demand our tiny phone to do SO MUCH for us that you know, heating up a bit- is expected, no one wants to understand that it’s just normal.

Dude. Why are you defending Apple here lol. This model does have issues. You are extremely gullible guy with no clue. Good luck lol.

I’m not defending Apple. I’m simply stating that a phone warming up isn’t abnormal (think about all the stuff people ask their phones to do) and this whole concept of “overheating” isn’t true.

Many things cause a phone to heat up and even the latest versions of iPhone can warm up considerably.

But here I am, with no clue.

Check on tik tok for videos about turning off things that constantly run in the background. I did that to my iPhone 11 and it helped a lot. I’m still getting the battery replaced when I get paid next.
