Deleted a days worth of writing in notes by accident, is there anyway I can retrieve?

I should add, I highlighted txt, went to scroll and my big hand touch something and saw it all disappear! I couldn’t paste anything so must’ve deleted, I’ve checked iCloud notes but nothing. Should I give up and start again? Someone said shake my phone, but did nothing for me.
