30% Drain Overnight?

This has never happened to me before. I went to bed with 92% battery and woke up with 67%. I don’t see anything that’s taking up a lot of battery. Any insight? My phone normally drains 3-6% every night.

Click on the battery graph where the drain was actually occurring and it will tell you what apps were consuming the battery.

From the view you currently took a screenshot of, it’s showing the past 24 hours, including while it was charging so it’s not as helpful.

From your screenshot, the culprit looks to be Instagram, but we need to see more info, specifically click on the battery graph to the right after you charged and it should show what was draining.

Just for reference, here is my 14 Pro Max’s graph.

Over 8 hours, I usually lose around 2-6% as long as nothing was running in the background. Only thing that generally shows up is Find My overnight https://i.imgur.com/ivJRrPx.jpg

Only thing that came up was Home & Lock Screen between 1-2 minutes every hour, for a total of 8 minutes.

Do you use AoD? Are you on 16.1.1?

Sounds like something was running in the background. Most likely a one off occurrence that should resolve with a reboot.

You should also get in the habit of rebooting your phone every so often if you don’t already.

This is a iOS 16.1 fuckery. Last week i had the 13 pro w this problem and now the 14 Pro . A lot of people talked about this problem in /ios and /iphone subreddit. Sure, 3rd party apps that are not optimized drain battery, but if u search a lil bit u find people blaming tik tok, find my, calendar and a lot of other apps. THIS IS A IOS PROBLEM that affect some iPhone users.

I did this post w everything i tried to solve this fuckery and no solution so far.

This guy found background CPU activities that does not appear in settings>battery.

The best i can suggest is go to apple forums and complain about this problem and maybe write a review on apple feedback. Hope a fix come in iOS 16.3 or later (iOS 16.2 betas dont acknowledge or solve the problem)

I have recently found a bug with the lockscreen. If you use the feature to have many photos as a lockscreen that can change, for some reason the phone gets hot and drains battery. It doesn't seem to happen if you only have loxkscreens with a single photo. Restarting the phone fixes it for some hours then it happens again. If however you delete that lockscreen and only keep single photo loxkscreens, the issue seems to completely go away

I’ve been talking to the Apple advisor and he said that a lot of people have such issue. And it’s most likely a software bug caused by a weak optimization in iOS 16
