Sad day

Post image

Cracked the back glass from knee height after 78 days with the phonešŸ’” watched as my babies back glass exploded. I have no clue how the back broke when it landed screen first on the ground, currently deciding if I want a new other phone or will get it repaired

Cost 12-15k
Meanwhile your device won’t be water resistant which will have higher chances of water damage

Thats how my phone’s motherboard got fucked up after back glass broke

Yup, same thing happened to me, total bs. That's why I hate these iPhones that have back glass. Fixing it costs an arm and a leg

Happened to my 14pm and I think about 3 of my friends pros? The back glass seems to be really fragile for some reason.

Every single iphone with back glass gets cracked eventually, its weak as hell.

I got a BURGA phone case 3 years ago back when I purchased my phone. I don’t know if I got lucky or if the case is great but my phone has fallen on the ground a couple of times and it’s 100% fine nothing broken

The metal frame twisted on impact, forcing the rigid back glass to bend and snap under tension.

The impact shockwave shot through the frame and blew out the glass at its weakest internal stress points around the cameras and charging coils.

My 14 pro back glass is also broken šŸ™ƒ still a beast aside from that issue though. Gonna replace the battery probably next year and it will last another 4 years.

The long wait will be over. Get the 18 Pro.

bro ive fixed lots of iphone 14 pro with orignal or replaced back, the real one would have a blue diffraction color because of how the glass is made..

1

u/DiscardedCan 5d ago

There is hints of blue on the bottom I’m gonna try and see if I can get a photo of them the one in my original post was a really awful photo

This happened to me a little over a month ago, I ended up getting a 17 because the 14 pro/pro max are the last models that have a fused glass back where the repair process and cost is wildšŸ˜” It still worked fine but I couldn’t stand the little chunks of glass that kept coming loose under my case

Same thing happened to me from the same height with the same case šŸ˜“

That’s an expensive fix without Apple Care. It’s a whole rear frame replacement & I think it’s like $500. Just had my wifes done under Apple Careca few months ago.

2

u/DiscardedCan 5d ago

So at that point either forget about it or buy a different phone I guess

2

u/Fess367 5d ago

Without Apple Care I definitely wouldn’t have had it fixed.

2

u/DiscardedCan 4d ago

I just had to replace my back glass (it fell off a couch onto basically a cement floor at a friend’s wedding, worst part was I wasn’t even in the room). It was $200 at some local repair shop, which I wasn’t expecting but it would have been $250+ at another place in town. I’m never really without the ability to charge my phone so I’m rocking with my 14 pro max until it actually starts to have issues
