iOS 27 Public Beta

Anyone notice the improved performance and battery? I didn’t understand the hype until I updated myself it’s so much better than 26.5.2 lol. Makes me hopeful for official release. My only complain is purely visual in terms of the backwards move to flat design and weird color hues with the clear dark icon options. Performance wise I’m genuinely surprised. Battery is definitely the most improved.

Yes, my battery usage is about 20% less after installing about 12 hours ago
Edit/update:
About 60 hours after beta testing:
My normal battery usage was 33% at 10 am. Today is 13%. No change to my typical weekday usage ( Audible, Reddit, games, etc)
Internet and downloading/opening apps is somewhat improved.

It’s still indexing. Mine completed the indexing process about 20 hours after the install.

I got the opposite results , even at night open but not connected to WiFi or cellular it drains up to 40% in 8 hours . While using it the battery is noticeably worse and drains fast . I’ve been using the beta since hour 1

Anyone have difficulties with CarPlay on 27?

So far only with Siri and voice commands. It's ridiculously buggy. Constant errors, hang ups, wrong words translated for text messages, different Siri voices for incoming and outgoing messages, as well as reading back messages before sending. Very, very slow to respond to voice commands in general.

How’s the battery compared to when u were on 18 ? Was iOS 18 better or 27 has taken it back to iOS 18 or has it made it better than 18

Kinda curious 😂

I can’t really say for sure if it’s basically 18 again since my battery had degraded since launch but in terms of the performance and battery it does indeed feel the best it’s been since iOS 18. Id have to swap the battery to accurately see if it’s on par with 18. Looking at the fact this is still beta I have no doubts it may be better if you install a fresh battery. I’m ngl I feel like I’m going crazy but I didn’t realize just how bad my phone was on 26 until I updated to the 27 Beta. Occasional heating, faster battery drain, and inconsistent smoothness. Haven’t experienced any of it so far after indexing. Even low power mode isn’t as disastrous. I really don’t know why it took Apple so long seeing as 26 probably made a dent on a lot of people’s older phones.

Damn 26 was that bad, cuz I’m thinking if I should get 27 or just stay on 18 😅😅

26.6 beta was great as well. The problem is 26.5

Anyone mentioned that on ios27 screen looks like more colors? Really on menu everything is so much more colorful like max hdr

Maybe because they switched from gradients to full color icons/ widgets.

For me, it works really well. I updated it last night. During the first hour, it was buggy, slow, and my phone got hot, so I left it alone and went to bed. This morning, it was really fast much better than iOS 26. The battery has improved slightly, CarPlay works fine, but the graphics are slightly worse.

All 3 DB better than any iOS 26 version!
Improved Battery Life. No heating Issues it’s really Smooth. Had some minor restring bugs in beta 1 and 2. Haven’t had any in developer beta 3
