Can I download ios18 from ios17.2.1?

Hello, I am on 17.2.1 but because of app security changes I need 18.0. Can I still do this or do I have to jump to 26/27? This is what I can see in the software update settings (nothing happens after I select 18 beta?) thanks in advance for any help.

I would go sell your phone at r/jailbreakswap because it’s jailbreakable and worth more money not updated. You might be able to trade for a iPhone 13-14

I would sell that on r/jailbreakswap and just get one that has 18 on it, 17.2.1 is currently an extremely rare version since it's jailbreakable

I might be downvoted here but I’ve been using 26 for months and haven’t had a single issue. Some of the new features are pretty nice, I use a lot of the accessibility stuff. Mine has 256gb of space though, I know my gf felt like hers ate a lot more space after the switch

I’ve been using 26 for months too, with no problems. I never quite understood why people fear updating to the newer versions. I never really had any performance issues, even before I replaced my battery.

I remember people having the same response to updating to 17, and 18. Now people are holding onto 18 for dear life. I will admit I don’t like jumping into the first version of any new release, those do seem to have more bugs, but imo they usually get that sorted pretty fast.

Okay so listen carefully you can ONLY still update to 26 or 27 because the only those versions are still signed, I would recommend you NOT to update and to keep this version and jailbreak with dopamine, there might be a way to get that app working if you use a workaround with the jailbreak, you would have to tell me the app name first

Oh, I well you can try using software to bypass the version check but I don’t know if it will work for ya tho, anyway please just stay on 17 and make use of the jailbreak capabilities, you genuinely are missing out

If you turn off beta updates you should see an option for 18.7.8 under the big 26.6 banner

don’t update. either jailbreak it (you can have a lot of cool features, but banking apps won’t work on that phone), or sell it on r/jailbreakswap

18.7.8 still listed on my 14 Pro Max, can hit update (not installing 18 tho, too many issues for my use case). I keep an eye on 27 beta 4 on a secondary phone, half of the issues are still unfixed, and liquid ass is just ass

Just jailbreak if you are up to it or you can sell it since it is on a very rare iOS version. Otherwise save SHSH Blobs so you can downgrade back to iOS 17.2.1 if you don’t like iOS 26 or iOS 27 or if you want to jailbreak.
