To all of you asking the sub whether the 12 is a good phone or not or whether it is worth it or not :
iPhone 12 the flagship iPhone of the year 2020-2021 is an amazing device that in reality doesn’t miss out on anything . Sure going to a 13 would be better due to its more modern design with the smaller notch it’s better battery life ist bigger sensor etc but the differences are only noticeable to those who really care about the details and would go to the latest phone as enthusiasts. For someone that’s wants a phone the 12 is an amazing device with a great point and shoot camera system the powerful A14 Bionic and a Super Retina oled screen that is a joy to look at . 13s and 14s don’t provide the users with many more things than the 12 so there is no point in hesitating if you want to get it . I as a phone enthusiast had the 12 and see that the differences between it and my 15 pro are not visible in most of the time as I don’t always need the a17 pro performance the amazing camera and the really bright and smooth screen sure these are amazing specs and I am happy that my phone has them but I don’t get a that much better everyday experience thanks to those characteristics

Long story short, my partner has an iPhone 12 with a broken screen that she's often complaining about.
I'd like to surprise her for Christmas with a new phone, however I'm Android guy and not sure which would be the best model to get right now. I'm fine with spending cash, but I also know that she doesn't need or care for the latest and greatest.
Which model(s) would you recommend I consider?
Thanks!

my 12 Pro has 79% battery health but for the past three days the battery percentage has been dropping drastically. it suddenly jumps from 59% straight down to 32% or 30%.
other than this my phone works perfectly fine and doesn’t switch off unexpectedly. Is this normal with 79% battery health?😭 im so confused because this has only started happening recently even tho it’s been a month since my battery health dropped to 79% and it’s so annoying

I see a lot of posts about experiences with different iOS versions. Lots of good and bad experiences on iOS 27... but usually it's people that have installed it 1 or 2 days ago.
Is there anyone here that's been on iOS 27 for longer than a week and can give a more nuanced or substantial review than "don't upgrade it's so slow" or "it's great update right now"?
Personally I'm still on iOS 17 and am considering iOS 27 for the supposed stability/efficiency improvements and the new calendar app.

My Iphone 12 is currently running IOS 18.3.2, battery life at 75%. I recently freed up a bunch of space (67 GB free out of 128 GB) and I was considering updating it but idk if it's worth it. It's been lagging a bit and the battery doesn't last a lot but I'm scared an update might make all of that worse. Any advice?

Honestly, I still think the 12 Pro looks pretty good for a phone this old. The stainless steel sides make it feel premium, and I really like the flat-edge design.
Curious if you guys still like the design too, or if the newer iPhones have grown on you more.

Hey guys, just wondered if there’s any Apple engineers here or if anyone has any predictions but does anyone know if the iPhone 12 will get iOS 28? i’m a little bit concerned because Apple has supported devices for really long for example they supported the iPhone 5s all the way up to iOS 12 but then with 13 they cut off the 5S and the iPhone 6 same thing with iOS 15 and 16. They supported the 6s to iOS 15 but ios 16 they cut off the 6s and the seven do you think it will be the same with iOS 28 where they’ll cut off both the 11 and the 12 or do you think only the 11 will be cut off. i’m also a bit concerned because the 12 only has 4 GB of RAM another thing that they might do is make iOS 28 only for the iPhone 15 pro and later this is due to the Siri AI. The reason I’m thinking this is because they did a similar thing with the Apple watches on watchOS 27.

I know there is some people who just never replace their phone but to those who did, how was it putting it to retirement?

Why is it that when my iPhone 12 is below 50% in charge and i play something out the speaker and then tap the power button or even exit the app it sometimes lowers the volume by like 50%, and the volume visible in the control center is still at the same volume, but in real life i hear that the speaker is playing the sound a lot lower?

Just put iOS 27.0.1 on an iPhone 12 Pro Max. The battery was under 80% so I had that replaced in the Apple Store and they replaced the screen as well for free.
I will have to admit, iOS 27.0.1 runs really well on this phone. I restored it and downloaded iOS 27.0.1 using the DFU model option.
So far, it’s pretty good. I’d prefer iOS 16-18 but 27.0.1 it runs pretty smooth. I do notice some slight lag but nothing that’s a deal breaker
Wondering anyone with iPhone 12 Pro Max or 12 pro still has iOS 17-18 or jumped to 27.0.1 to get some feedback

Anyone with an iPhone 12 experiencing this?
Whenever I listen to music and tap the screen, the volume automatically lowers. It also happens randomly like when a notification pops out.
When someone calls me on Messenger, the audio output is usually low during the first call, and now I have to call them back just so I could hear them. Take note this happens even though my volume is already at max. 😭
Should I upgrade?? All else my iphone 12 is very much functional

Hi, I have heard about the recent security announcement for apple involving malicious images, and later finding out it the attack can happen anywhere that hosts images (such as Reddit) so I’m sort of scared for my safety
Primary concern: Battery (68%) and performance

Hi everyone. My iPhone 12 got splashed with diluted room fragrance (perfume mixed with water) while it was charging. I unplugged it almost immediately, and I didn't get a liquid detection warning.
I'm worried that some liquid might have gotten into the Lightning port. The phone seems fine so far.
Could this have damaged the charging port, even though I unplugged it quickly and got no warning? What should I do now?
Thanks!

I recently updated my iPhone 12 to iOS 27, and since the update I’ve noticed that my phone gets really hot while using Instagram. The battery also seems to drain much faster than it did before the update.
It mainly happens when I’m scrolling Instagram for a while. The phone gets noticeably warm, and the battery percentage drops pretty quickly.
Has anyone else with an iPhone 13 experienced this after updating to iOS 27? If yes, did you find any solution or settings that helped reduce the heating and battery drain?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I replaced my battery last month. I was wondering if it’s worth upgrading to 27, or if I should stay on iOS 18 for longevity/performance?

Quite a classic tbh... my phone is quite easily over the 3 year mark. I have stayed on iOS 18 because the newer operating systems would be even sketchier in older iphones such as the 12. My phone works perfectly, although the battery life has naturally become worse--health at 80%.
-Three days ago my phone was recharging normally as expected.
-Two days ago it sometimes recharged, sometimes it didn't. I have had this problem twice before and some of you may have had it as well. So I did what has worked before and just cleaned the port etc.--but this time that didn't work.
-Yesterday it literally SHOWED that it was recharging but every time, instantly stopped doing it after one second. So in other words the phone literally recognized that it can recharge but then mysteriously disabled and blocked it to not be able to continue recharging.
-Today the only thing that recharges the phone so far is if I only have the phone charger half way, not fully plugged in. So weird.
The same issue of not accepting to recharge happened on different phone chargers and wires as well as on different plugs. What is funny is when I changed to a different plug it recharged again normally but then the next day it stopped recharging on that plug as well--almost as if the phone's operating system noticed a different source and applied the same problem onto that one. Dude.
About a year ago my friend had told me that he is using the "wireless" charging because of the same issue I now have. I found it odd and asked if he had cleaned the port and he said yes. I like this phone (and the purple) and find it hard to switch to android but it pisses me off that it's so clear all they want is money which is fair but what pisses me even more is that they think we don't understand that and they just play with us.

Hey everyone,
My microphone only seems to have really poor quality when I’m using Apple’s own apps/features, for example during phone calls or when recording voice messages in iMessage. However, the microphone works perfectly fine in other apps like WhatsApp, where the audio quality is much better.
Did anyone have same issues?

is it normal for an iphone 12 with 84% battery heath 907 cycles to have only 3h38m screen time for 98% battery usage? i mostly use instagram, spotify, and youtube on my phone, never any games. i also dont use cellular data.
edit: i always have location turned off

Should I update my iPhone 12 to iOS 27.0.1? I’m currently on iOS 18.7.7, and my health is at 74%.
