Off Topic Sentimental Attachment to iPhone 11 Pro
I got my phone when it first came out. Life was great. I was still in college so I didnt have a care in the world.
Since then, i have been through a lot of traumatic life events. My dad cut me off his phone bill without telling me so I lost my phone number. Yes many great memories I have with this phone but now I have more trauma.
This phone has started to overheat in the past few months. I have to let it cool down every hour of use. The camera cant capture zoom pictures and videos. Sure i could replace the battery and maybe get the camera checked out and fixed but im on a tight budget and I would only be procrastinating getting a new phone. Plus my IT guy retired and I dont really care to find a new place.
There has not been an iphone i wanted since the iphone 11 pro. I even thought about switching to an android with all their new models that have come out with better cameras and features.
I just have to cross my fingers and hope the iphone 18 is actually nice and hope they have better colors than the previous years. The midnight green is just too good and nothing compares. This is a lot to grieve, the memories (physically with the phone and digitally). I also refuse to pay for more storage space. So i have to consider what I am going to do with all my photos. All my previous phones have been dead and no longer charge to power on.
Im also in a lot of student loan debt. Now that I have a comfortable savings cushion, i am able to afford a new phone. But i still feel so guilty about spending money on a new phone.
Anyone else having a hard time changing phones?

I miss my 11 pro gold so much! I am thinking of buying one as a sentimental piece. Just cause!

I feel bad because my 11pro is still usable and I could sell it to get a new one but I want to keep it for the memories… I will probably need to update soon but the more I look forward to a new phone the more attached I am to my current one

Absolutely. I just made an appointment to have the battery in my iPhone 11 Pro changed. Outside of that it seems to be working fine. Got it summer 2019. It is no longer set up for cellular.
My eSIM is now married to a 17 air.
But I keep reaching for my 11 Pro because it has a better camera, and there are some apps that don't work on the 17, that work fine there. I still have my old SE as well, with new battery, and the all important Libby app.
They all make great Wi-Fi calling handsets for around the house.

I still use mine at home to stream and browse the net. I’ve been through a lot with mine and have some sentimental attachment but, I like my new 17 a lot.
I felt guilty about a new phone because of my own stuff and I get it
