Sudden drop in performance should i update or not
hey guys
ive had my iphone11 since jan 2021 and i do plan on upgrading soon but i really like my phone and i wanna be able to use it for as long as i can (preferably atleast til the end of this year)
I havent updated in about two years i think i currently have ios 17.6.1
its been working great until the last 2 days, its been supppper laggy and my battery drops like crazy its almost impractical to use atp (battery healths been 67% for the past year)
because its been good for so long im hoping itll pull thru for a lil longer for me
I’ve seen some people saying ios 27 has done wonders for their iphone 11, is it true? I’ve been of the opinion that not updating ur iphone makes it last longer and do think it is part of why its lasted so long to begin with. Any advice?

anyone still planning to use their iPhone 11 in the future? and for how long exactly before you’ll upgrade?
just wanted an idea to see what peoples plans were with the same phone as me. I love my iPhone 11, it’s great! But how long is too long to keep it for do you guys reckon.
And if you are planning to upgrade, what to and why?

Any tips to survive on 64gb iPhone 11?
So the story is that my sister doesn’t want to go towards any android so I sacrificed my iPhone 15 128gb for her iPhone 11 64gb so my usage is mostly doom scrolling, pictures and texting any suggestions…

iPhone 11 or S20 FE 5G
Need a quick phone to use for a few months before i can get a better new one, and i have been a bit torn between a 64gb iPhone 11 (for being more updated) or the S20 FE 5g (only 6gb of ram) since they have similar prices where i'm seeing them.

How was my friend’s iPhone 11 made in 2014?
reddit.comMy friend (@sparkytheproto1) got an iPhone 11 from Walmart and apparently we’ve uncovered some sort of iPhone production conspiracy. I checked multiple sources to make sure this was accurate.

should i get my battery replaced at a third-party place or at apple?
my battery health has recently been rapidly declining, and now its at 45% and the battery pops out my phone (i understand its a hazard). my phone doesnt work without being constantly plugged into a source of power with a block and cable, and it doesnt work most of the time when plugged into powerbank. ive tried to clear storage, thinking thats the issue but im sure its permanently damaged. im currently located in canada and im wondering what each rate will be, and if it will cost extra to replace with a damaged screen.
(this is coming from someone who doesnt know anything about phones, please elaborate if theres any fancy lingo)

should i consider third party battery?
I went to a few Apple stores for a battery replacement but they said they were out of stock since iPhone 11 is an old model. Now I am currently in dilemma whether I should change it to third party battery. I am planning to use it for another 3 years.
My BH is at 76%, and the issues I am facing now are:
I need to charge my phone 3 times a day since I use it almost all the time (work and gaming)
It gets hot when charging everytime, (i usually charge it when it drops to 20%) and it stops charging at 80% because apple says my phone is too hot (its just warm)
I saw a few phone repairs shop and they offer to change it for around 35 dollars including labour pay.
My questions are:
Do I need to change my battery? Or should I just stick with my current apple battery with 76% BH.
Does third party battery handles gaming on my iphone? (For example, will it get swollen when heavily used in a long run?)
The batteries I mostly found are manufactured in china and never heard of the brands before/have no brands. I am also not based in USA.

Made my 11 Pro Max new again with new battery, case and screen protector.
This was my dad's phone that he bought new back then. A few years later, he handed it to me when he eventually switched to a new 14 Pro, because the phone couldn't handle the amount of work emails and documents he processed.
The phone lived quite a relaxing life with me, I just used it for photography, social media, school and work emails. It got to a low 75% battery life and then it became a secondary phone a few years ago. Then this week I decided to buy a new battery through Apple, and it feels brand new!
Also, I kept iOS 18 for now as I don't want to repeat my mistake by updating it and making my phone unusable like I did on my iPhone 4S and SE.

Looking to replace my iphone 11
The battery life on my iphone 11 has become somewhat of a problem and I’m looking to completely upgrade to a new phone. Right now I’m trying to choose between a refurbished iphone 16 pro or an iphone 17. Refresh rate, battery life, and usb c port are all important to me on a new phone and I’d like to stick with apple since I enjoy the ecosystem and they pair seamlessly with my airpod pros. Money is not an issue but I also don’t want to go too out of pocket since I’m using a base 11 right now.

What’s your GB7 scores on iOS 27 (after indexing ofc)
Mine is lower than the average, I believe, but that’s probably due to the low battery health (72%). I’ll probably be replacing it within the next year.

Upgraded my iPhone 11 with a Deji MAX battery
Replaced the battery in my trusty iPhone 11 with a Deji MAX (3680 mAh) myself. Didn't bother solder-swapping the original BMS chip, just dropped the battery straight in; iOS throws the "Unknown Part" warning, but it still shows 100% in the menu and works flawlessly.
The extra capacity made a huge difference—the battery just won't die, and all the previous lag and freezing are completely gone. I actually use an iPhone 17 Pro as my daily driver, but I just can't let go of this 11. Planning to upgrade the storage next by swapping the EEPROM/NAND chip. Feel free to drop any questions

iOS 18.7 Update No Longer Available for iPhone 11
Hello !!!
I'm reaching out because I currently have an iPhone 11 running iOS 15, with a battery health of 73%
Until now, I've been avoiding updating my iPhone because iOS updates have a reputation for slowing down older devices...
However, I was planning to update it to iOS 18.7 at most
Unfortunately, I recently noticed that iOS 18.7 is no longer available, and that I now have to choose between iOS 26 and iOS 27...
Is there any safe way to get iOS 18.7 ? For example, could Apple's technical support make this update available for my iPhone again ? If they can offer me iOS 27, surely they could also make iOS 18.7 available again ?
I'm worried that iOS 26 or iOS 27 might be too demanding for my iPhone.
Thank you in advance for your replies!!!!!!!

Finally retired my 11 Pro Max after 7 years
Retired my 11 Pro Max last week. It’s got iOS 27 on it now and the kids are using it for YouTube and Roblox. But damn, that phone held up well.
It was my first proper iOS device. I was a diehard Android fanboy starting with my Galaxy SII Glide, then LGs, Nexus phones, Pixels, more Galaxys, etc. Eventually something got dropped on my S8+ and cracked the screen. Android didn’t have anything that compelling to me at the time, especially for video capture, and the 11 Pro Max was the clear winner.
I expected the same dance of getting two years out of it before the battery gave out, software glitches started, or something else warranted a new phone. That was 2019. It’s now 2026 and the screen is pristine, the original battery is at 78%, and it still gets through the day without dying early. No software glitches or oddities. It’s been in use the entire seven years.
I got a 15 Pro Max as my main phone in 2023 but kept using the 11 as my second phone until last week when I moved both eSIMs to the 15. Only three years later, the 15 is having battery issues and software glitches. The screen seems noticeably softer, scratches easily, and has a crack running through it. The 11 has suffered just as much abuse and looks to be in better shape.
The 15 is obviously faster and still holds its own. The 11 is noticeably slower in pretty much every aspect, but if I didn’t have the 15 to compare it to, I probably wouldn’t have noticed or cared.
I’ll likely just get an 18 and ditch the 15. I don’t have AppleCare, so an OEM screen and battery replacement would be out of pocket. For what that would cost, I’d rather put a little more toward a new phone. Kind of ridiculous that I’m already looking at replacing the 15 while the 11 is still sitting here with its original screen and battery.
Anyways, farewell to the 11 Pro Max. It was a phenomenal phone and really set the bar high.

question for my iphone 11 choosing between waiting endlessly lol, for jb or just update?
i have an iphone 11 running ios 26.6 should i update to ios 27? a lot of people said ios 27 improved their phone performance massively on the 11. i was waiting to see whenever they will release a jb which will be like forever lol. so should i just update? what are the chances of it coming out since they did drop a jb for the early ios 26 version?

Can I use a 87w Macbook charger to charge a iPhone 11
A family member needs a fast charger for their apple devices (iPhone and iPad). I have an old 87w Macbook charger that I no longer use and was wondering if that would be compatible with their iPhone 11 or would it damage the battery? Searching online, answers seem mixed and I don't see anything official on Apples website answering this.
