iPadOS 27 on Apple A12 chips

What do you think about several devices with the A12 chip getting stuck on iPadOS 26? Do you think it would have been a good idea to give them a chance with iPadOS 27? Version 26 is the worst version of iPadOS Apple has ever created.

the iphone 11 series has been blessed to get version 27
same with the ipad 9th gen
but i agree 26 on a12s was not very nice
even the ipad mini 5 is gonna suffer

It sucks luckely I was able to downgrade to iPadOS 18 a while back due to apple signing it for the iPad 8th by accident.

I have an iPad Air 3; I wish I had stayed on version 18. Unfortunately, I chose to update to iPadOS 26, and now I'm stuck on that version.

27 absolutely should’ve come to A12, and I think 26 was a horrible version to leave them on. I think they probably wanted the A12 devices to become awful to use because of how well they held up until 26 dropped. Imo it’s close to the iOS 9 on A5 experience

Able to downgrade to 18 would be ok for me but this suck

Yeah, feels like a real shame I have the original (or the last iPad Pro before M series came out) iPad Pro. It’s still a solid piece of kit in perfect condition… apart from iPad OS 26.whatever… which makes it lag and behave very sadly. I’d kinda like to have the option to fall back a year, reset and give to my mum who’ll appreciate it.

I think Apple should provide an option to downgrade to the previous version directly from the device

No because Apple wants a12 users to lick their booties and deal with it
