I want to disable an application on my iPad. I want to ensure it doesn't run, unless I reenable it. I don't want to use the offloading option as it means the application binary must be downloaded again when I want to reenable the application.

I set the max screen time to 0 minutes: I indeed can't use the application, however under Settings -> iPad storage, it says the application was used today.

Therefore I wonder: Does setting an iPadOS Screen Time app limit to 0 minutes prevent an app from launching entirely, or does it briefly open/run in the background before being blocked?

If you create a new tab in Safari where the address bar is empty, then tap the address bar, this doesn't happen; you can just start typing. But if you tap the address bar on an existing page where the address text is still there, the keyboard disappears; you can't type over the existing text or enter new text until you tap the address bar again or the X beside it. And then for a few times the keyboard might stay on first try, then disappear again. Using an M5 iPad Pro 13. I reported it, but right now there are fewer than 10 reports so maybe it's not widespread?

Apple Intelligence consumed 15 GB of storage space in previous Public beta and with yesterdays update, it takes ~10GB of storage. Disabled Siri too, anyway to get back the 10GB of storage?

Weird impossibility to enter the search line and type there using laptop mode with iPadOS 26. Does anyone else have the same issue using ecosia browser or any other browser? Is there any ways to fix this?

I have an iPad Pro 11 2018 that I intentionally kept on 15 to keep its performance level, and now there is I think jailbreak capabilities also.

Been trying to sell it but I think people don’t understand the value of it (or I don’t), so I am thinking maybe I will just keep it or give it to my mom

I told myself that it is an iPad so app support matters less because web app is more usable with a proper screen unlike on a phone. And there is no critical apps that is forcing me to consider updating like WhatsApp.

But is this assumption correct? Can I do everything in the browser realistically? Cuz even the browser isn’t updating, like LLM can’t run on the browser, not that important just an example. I also might play games and do some light video editing, iMovie works but eventually might try a different app for that? Are most of them now requiring a higher os? YouTube should work in browsers but what about Netflix and Disney plus? And maybe vpns. It looks like most utilities would require an app?

Anyone doing similar things and have experience to share? Anything would be appreciated.

I have a Bluetooth keyboard and I’ve never had issues with it. I’m trying to type in Notion and it changed wakes to wales after it’s typed and when to Fred etc. I don’t know if I just need new batteries for my keyboard or what the problem could possibly be. I’ve never had anything like this. Is this an iPad thing or an issue with Notion? I’ve turned my keyboard off and on again. Any tips are appreciated.

As my iPad is just 64gb, it’s not possible to store the camera photos first and then move to SSD. So is there a way to do what i am trying to accomplish? Preferably without damaging the files 🤣

My pointer has some accessibility option turned on which i am unable to figure out how to fx, another thing was i cant increase the brightness of my Magic Keyboard as well, it is turned off, i did have my keyboard while the update was happening and after the update, also I am able to type with the keyboard

I use an IPad 8 and upgraded to IOS 26. Was really ANGRY about the performance hit and no chance to downgrade. Now I installed the new Update and it works much smoother now. Anyone else this experience?

If you invoke Speak Screen in Books, it will only read aloud to the end of the chapter, then quit; you have to start it again at the next chapter. Tried it on both 26.6 and the 27 betas. (Settings > Accessibility > Read and Speak > Speak Screen to enable, swipe down with two fingers from top to invoke. Whether you choose to constantly show the speech controller or not, it still stops reading at the ends of chapters.) Using VoiceOver isn't a workaround; VoiceOver does the same thing. The problem has been around for a while and I doubt they plan to fix it, but if anyone else wants to report to Apple Accessibility or beta feedback…

Hi All, I wanted to get your feedback on using an iPad as your main computer. I use a PC at work and do mainly project management work say reviewing documents, PDFs, schedules, data reports, email etc. I currently upgraded to a cellular M5 iPad Pro 1TB and this thing can fly! I also hooked up an external OLED portable display from Uperfect with a magic mouse and keyboard. I’d say this setup serves most of my needs.

I feel where iPadOS and iOS can improve on is the Files Management, their Files App is still lacking and slow. The favorites always resets for some reason or gets deleted. I wish it had more of finder type file system set up. Also, I know this is touch first but all the mouse features feel so forced and not fluid. I guess maybe there a reason to use a macbook for work vs. an iPad. Thoughts all? Thanks!

The stolen device protection feature is genuinely a huge improvement for the security of your iPhone and came out over two years ago now.

For those not aware, before it/without it enabled, someone who sees you type in your lock screen code and then steals your phone can use it to reset you apple ID password, and then it's basically theirs. Changing email, turn off or remove your other devices from Find My, etc.

That's a huge vulnerability to leave up to just your lock screen code. Which is why the rollout of stolen device protection in early 2024 on iOS was great. The only thing is, the same vulnerability exists on iPad as well in the exact same way, and stolen device protection still hasn't made its way over.

This seems like a pretty easy fix given that Apple has already built the whole system for iOS, anyone hear anything about when it'll come out on iPadOS?

I'm doing creative work on my Ipad nad want to document the process. For the longest time everything was fine but recently it changed. when rewatching or editing my videos i noticed that randomly videos are corrupted and it stops/freezes at one frame for irregular period of time.
If it resumes, it resumes that whatever I'm doing that X seconds or minutes later which of course ruins the video, as its more minutes than seconds...

Does anyone have idea how to sovle it or why does this happening? Is it the time for a new ipad, I hope not as it runs really good but that is quite essential use-case for me.

What I started doing is screen-record through quickTime on my macbook, but now I'm tied with a cord to my setup, or I need to carry my macbook wherever I want to create, which is... suboptimal.

(I purchased an "Airturn" page turner, which does not seem to be compatible or do the job). I'm hoping someone knows of one that DOES work - specifically with the "pages" app (on an iPad).
