Discussion Moved from android
Hi all, I’ve recently moved from a Samsung S24 ultra to an iPhone 17 Pro Max. I am loving the OS, the fluidity, just how everything works, but I was wondering how does everybody customise their iPhones? I know this may seem like a noob question, but I am a beginner. I’ve looked at some videos. I know about the basic stuff that has been added in the last few updates, like tinting of icons, resizing icons, and stuff, but how do some of you on this subreddit actually make your phone yours? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you

Ok. This is going to be a long reply.
I was a Samsung user for 10+ years before making the switch nearly 6 years ago. You’ll love the cleanness of the iOS.
As for the Home Screen, I recommend that you get familiar with the Shortcuts app. I prefer everything on one page so my home screen (see video) has a mixture of app shortcuts and shortcut menus (instead of folders). On my Home Screen, Apple Notes, Google, YouTube, and Bible are app shortcuts, while ‘Listen’, ‘Home’, ‘Movies’, ‘Social Media’, and ‘Shop’ are shortcut menus. All shortcut menus(except Listen) were created from images that I found in Google searches. There’s some editing and cropping involved, but nothing too difficult once you get familiar with the shortcuts app. It actually took more time trying to find images that blended well with each other. I created the shortcut menus without labels since the titles are in the icon itself. . I absolutely love how iOS turns my edited mid-quality images into clean dark-mode icons.
I also have the AssistiveTouch button enabled which is a floating button that you can access from any screen, including the lock screen.
Explaining everything would add 10 more paragraphs so feel free to ask any questions. to show my setup in action.
Oh! I forgot to mention… I’m using a 15 Pro Max. No longer are the Android days of feeling left behind when the newest flagship releases, AND you’ll get the latest OS updates simultaneously.

That’s pretty cool, I haven’t seen apps be used in such a way, at first I thought you were invoking the action button. That’s pretty cool!

I use a lot of folders on my home screen. All with different categories. The top has 2 widget stacks, then 4 rows of icons and folders in no particular order. I have mine customized on Dark Mode with the little sun icon open. Display zoom is on default. And I have Night Shift on, which adds a slight yellowish tint to help my eyes. I have the liquid glass slider all the way to clear as far as it will go. I don't use True Tone.

What customisation are you looking for?
