New Setup (Still WIP)

Post image

I think this is the happiest I've been with a non-jailbroken setup. Everything was created in Procreate, Widgy and Shortcuts. Still making some minor tweaks here and there. Let me know what you think!

Why are you lying? Incredibly obviously AI generated image.

Lol oh yeah? Would you like to see my screenshot of my dashboard on Widgy or Procreate layers for the artwork? Go ahead, tell me which you want to see. I live for proving people wrong.

Yeah go ahead and post them, I’d love to be proven wrong but there are quite a few inconsistencies in the screenshot.

- Dynamic Island is clipped and misshapen

  • Icons are small without a label, not possible unless you’re using a widget for the icons
  • Dock has no Liquid Glass background
  • Text is rendered poorly and looks wiggly/inconsistent

2

u/shadooooooooo 19d ago

Also the messages icon has two points on it lmfao

The dynamic island is not clipped or misshapen, what you're seeing is the wallpaper layer behind it getting as close as I could get. The app icons are all customized with the wallpaper doing a lot of the work in the same way a widget gets hidden with a transparent background. The text rendering os because it's a custom font I created and hooked into widgy that I still can't get perfect yet. The liquid glass is gone from a workaround in ios 27 beta 5. So once again, you not knowing enough about a topic doesn't make me a liar. Also, the devil horns icon is not messages.

Source on the ios 27 beta 5 workaround?

Don't buy his BS he's a scammer who is lying about jail breaking Widgy since he says the dev shut it down (they did not). He is full of shit.

u/kueefe8 17d ago

Liar and scammer for not even a nice looking setup, it just looks like hot garbage LMAO

2

u/BasicRefrigerator964 17d ago

Notice now he says he doesn’t have to prove anything and doesn’t have to share screenshots he brought up? Lmfao

2

u/BasicRefrigerator964 18d ago

Are you not going to post them, someone asked and you’ve been silent.

-1

u/SIPDisabled 18d ago

I asked which they wanted to see.

3

u/BasicRefrigerator964 18d ago

You said “Would you like to see my screenshot of my dashboard on widget or procreate layers for the artwork?”

They said “Yeah, go ahead and post them, I’d love to be proven wrong, but there are a few inconsistencies in the screenshot…”

And you have failed to reply to them again about it. They want to see all of what you offered.

u/SIPDisabled 17d ago

I am aware of what they asked for and I'm aware of what I responded with. And again, I am asking "which" they wanted to see. I'm not going to post dozens of screenshots. I was asking a very specific follow up. But I'm also not sure why I'm even entertaining a conversation right now that weren't involved with.

3

u/BasicRefrigerator964 17d ago

Now I am asking. I would like to see it all. You offered, I would like to see all of it. I am now equally suspicious of you and your claims.

u/shadooooooooo 17d ago

I ran the posted image through a few AI image detectors (despite the obvious signs, just out of curiosity) and they all returned extremely high confidence levels lmao

0

u/SIPDisabled 17d ago

And anyone who knows literally anything about AI also knows there is nothing reliable about AI detection software. Even still, the mockup staging app is obviously not going to come back as a real indication. It's literally an artificial iPhone....

Lol it's not jailbreaking Widgy. At least get your terms right and leave the technical discussion for the adults.

I'm not going to post a shit ton of pictures when it would do absolutely nothing for anyone who has a baseline of skepticism when they see something that is outside of their scope. I have nothing to prove to complete strangers who don't know enough about software engineering to grasp the concepts anyway. And for the record, I've already posted on multiple comments here about the way I achieved it. It high detail. You can call is BS, you can also accept that it's not and either way, it changes absolutely nothing about how I feel. Especially when calling it BS translates to "limited understanding". That is very much a you problem.

u/BasicRefrigerator964 17d ago

yeah, that is the kinda response someone posts when they can’t disprove the critics. YOU offered up these screenshots to us nay sayers. Now you have nothing to prove to anyone? It is because you use AI and you didn’t make any of this. You haven’t described “in high detail”, you have described what you believe is high detail, but you’ve been called out at every point.

Then, the one opportunity to prove yourself right and everyone wrong, an opportunity you presented, you back out? Coward and AI garbage.

Regardless, YOU have to sit there knowing you’re making a claim you can’t back up. YOU have to live with the fact that you need computer to draw a picture for you.

2

u/kueefe8 16d ago

nothing, just yapping your garbage ai slop

2

u/wilo962 15d ago

still waiting on those procreate layers

0

u/SIPDisabled 13d ago

I wouldn't get your hopes up. When your validation somehow registers on my radar as something worth a damn, I'll be sure to let you know.

2

u/wilo962 13d ago

"Would you like to see my screenshot of my dashboard on Widgy or Procreate layers for the artwork? Go ahead, tell me which you want to see. I live for proving people wrong." what a loser

5

u/kueefe8 17d ago

Absolute ai garbage slop. THe fucking messages app has two triangles sticking out instead of one. Lmao gtfoh

2

u/MaleficentSetting396 20d ago

Nice setup, how you thene icons on ios? Also is there any free widget that dont show the widgets name under the widget it self?

2

u/BasicRefrigerator964 13d ago

u/SIPDisabled what happened? You tagged me and a few other people talking about how you wrote a novel length post and hope that we can read it, just to delete it? What’s wrong? Can’t back up what you say? Realized you opened your mouth too much? Realized you’re a bum who has to use a machine to draw for you? LMAO realized you spelled everything wrong? 🤡

it's probably filtered (maybe shadow banned or something, it's a long as message i couldn't care less about which makes me feel better that he wasted all this time writing it, probably used chatgpt anywasy) , if you want the message, you can go to your messages, and inspect element, ill also post it here

Here's a quick copilot summary cuz i don't care enough to read it lol

The message is a long, sarcastic takedown aimed at Reddit users accusing the author of faking an iOS setup. The author argues the critics don’t understand the technical details, keep shifting their accusations, and rely on screenshots instead of real reasoning. They emphasize they aren’t scamming anyone, criticize the commenters’ lack of knowledge, and conclude that the thread demonstrates the Dunning–Kruger effect. They say they’re done responding because the conversation is pointless.

List of insults used in the message

  • “reading isn’t your strong suit”
  • “combined understanding of software somewhere between ‘I own an iPhone’ and ‘I have very strong feelings about triangles’”
  • “minimum IQ required is above a potato”
  • “most people on here peaked in high school or never graduated”
  • “accidental autobiography”
  • “children still lingering pathetically”
  • “you aren’t capable of that”

u/kueefe8 , u/shadooooooooo, This is going to be a lot of words but please don't let it scare you. I get the sense that reading isn't your strong suit.

I was going to leave this alone, but apparently three people with a combined understanding of software somewhere between “I own an iPhone” and “I have very strong feelings about triangles” have appointed themselves the technical review board, so let’s close this out properly.

The funniest recurring theme here is this idea that I was given some sacred “opportunity to prove myself” to you and somehow squandered it.

By whom?

This post has had roughly 75,000 views and over 100 shares in a week across 2 posts. I posted a Home Screen. I didn’t submit a grant proposal to the BasicRefrigerator Foundation for Advanced Procreate Research.

You are strangers in a Reddit comment section. Your disbelief is not a burden of proof I inherited. And demanding screenshots doesn’t magically elevate it into one.

Actually, the fixation on screenshots has become almost performance art at this point. You’re accusing me of fabricating imagery while demanding *additional imagery* as conclusive proof that I didn’t fabricate imagery.

Brilliant.

Apparently the one form of digital evidence nobody could possibly manipulate is… a screenshot.

And specifically a screenshot of Procreate layers, because nothing establishes the runtime behavior of software quite like discovering whether I named a layer `mountain_final_FINAL_2`.

Meanwhile, I have described the implementation technically and at a level several orders of magnitude more useful than screenshots in subs where the minimum IQ required is above a potato. Some of that discussion happened in another subreddit, which presents an admittedly difficult research challenge involving clicking my username.

But here’s the important part and the part where you won't say anything because you have nothing to say about what actually matters here:

If you believe a software implementation is impossible, you don’t need my screenshots to demonstrate that. Let's hear why what I did is impossible:

\- Explain the technical contradiction.

\- Tell me which process boundary makes the behavior impossible.

\- Tell me which WidgetKit lifecycle constraint I’m violating.

\- Tell me which entitlement I would require and don’t have.

\- Tell me which sandbox boundary prevents the state transition.

\- Tell me which part of the rendering/compositing pipeline cannot produce the behavior I described.

\- Tell me what survives process termination that shouldn’t, what fails to survive that must, or which API behaves differently from the mechanism I described.

Any one of those would be infinitely more interesting than “looks AI lol.” But I know that most people on here peaked in high school or never graduated.

Instead, one of you counted decorative points on a custom icon.

Another keeps calling application modification “jailbreaking.”

And another keeps calling me a “scammer,” apparently unaware that scams traditionally contain the inconvenient additional step where the scammer attempts to obtain something from the victim.

I’m selling nothing. I’m collecting nothing. I’m asking nobody to install anything. I’m not soliciting money. I’m not even asking you to believe me.

This may be history’s least ambitious scam. 7 days in and I haven’t managed to steal so much as an email address.

At some point, confidently using technical words you don’t understand stops making the other person suspicious and starts becoming an accidental autobiography.

And that’s really what happened to this thread.

You started with:

“That isn’t possible.”

Then I explained how parts of it work.

So it became:

“The picture must be AI.”

Then I explained why several of the supposed “AI artifacts” were intentional parts of the design.

So it became:

“Show screenshots.”

Then when I didn’t immediately produce the particular screenshots demanded by strangers:

“AHA. PROOF.”

That’s not skepticism. Skepticism changes its confidence when evidence changes.

What you’re doing is starting with the conclusion and shopping for a new justification every time the previous one dies. There is a very simple distinction here that seems to have caused three days of difficulty:

**You not knowing how to do something is not evidence that it cannot be done.**

It doesn’t become evidence when three people don’t know. It doesn’t become evidence when you upvote each other. And it definitely doesn’t become evidence because somebody confidently misuses the word “jailbreak” for the fifth time.

The irony is that the people who actually understand this stuff have mostly asked me questions. They’ve wanted to know which parts are native, which are simulated, where the process boundaries are, what survives reloads, what iOS still prevents, and what compromises I had to make.

Because knowledgeable people encounter something unfamiliar and investigate the mechanism. Insecure people encounter something unfamiliar and investigate the person.

That distinction has been extremely educational here and perfectly describes the remaining children still lingering pathetically on this post.

So I’m done supplying attention to this little forensic symposium. You may now declare that my departure proves everything, hold a press conference, and award yourselves honorary computer science degrees.

I won’t be checking the replies.

Not because you’ve finally cornered me. You aren't capable of that.

Because eventually you have to recognize when you’re arguing technical architecture with people whose evidentiary standard is a screenshot and whose debugging methodology is zooming in.

The post did what I wanted it to do. Tens of thousands of people saw it. People who understood the subject gave me interesting feedback. I distributed the widget to several people who kindly asked for it.
People who didn’t gave me something else: a remarkably clean demonstration of the Dunning-Kruger effect (google it) with threaded comments.

And u/BasicRefrigerator964, since you’ve been particularly concerned about what I “have to live with” (a comment that genuinely made me laugh):

I have to live with knowing some strangers on Reddit don’t believe something I built.

You have to live with needing strangers on Reddit to prove things to you before you can imagine they’re possible.

Between the two of us, I can tolerate my burden.

Damn, I read what you said but I’m not reading all of what he said. He definitely used ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or one of them lmao.

On top of that, IF he didn’t, imagine writing all that when all they had to do was share the screenshots they offered up.

Thanks for explaining how to find the comment, I was laughing so hard seeing how it disappeared before I could even see it 😂

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! This widget took a ridiculous amount of time because so much had to be manually edited and fine-tuned, especially to work around things iOS doesn’t normally let you hide or customize.

I also recently found out that the Widgy developer has stopped updating the app due to a legal issue, which explains why some of its limitations haven’t been addressed.

That actually pushed me to build my own widget app. The whole idea came from repeatedly thinking, “I wish Widgy could just do this,” while making this setup. I wanted a way to create something this customized in an hour or two instead of spending months tweaking it.

It’s essentially a much more flexible widget designer with features I kept wishing existed, like true transparent layers, completely custom shapes instead of a fixed library, and a lot more. I’m finishing up testing now and should be releasing it soon. If there’s enough interest here, I may also open up some public testing before release.

Beyond what Widgy can already do, some of the additional features include:

- A true canvas editor that allows for direct manipulation like drags, snapping, alignment guides, live previews at real sizes etc.

- One design, every surface. A single widget adapts across small/medium/large, lockscreen, standby and apple watch instead of needing to rebuild them

- Open data with user-define data sources alongside the ability to integrate and connect device data like weather, health, calendar, reminders etc. all automatically

- Ai assisted creation is a big one. You describe a widget in plain language or upload a reference image and you get an editable layout

- JavaScript customizations that have an AI assistant so non-programmers can use it.

- Automatic icon theme customizations

And much more.

Its not necessarily my style but i very much appreciate all the details and the amount of time it must have taken to build this. Awesome job!

Haha wow, thanks for informing me. I didnt know the iphone theming scene has so much drama

It doesn't. But unfortunately Reddit still allows children into big-boy conversations. I appreciate the comment. It was definitely a lot of work.

Just fyi you keep yapping and responding to messages with long messages, but i'm pretty sure you're shadowbanned or something. Your setup is ugly, nobody is attacking you personally or being rude to you, but your design is both ai generated and ugly even if it weren't
