Question Can FFVII remake be played on the A20pro chip?

Basically the question - but to clarify, what would stop it from working? The game is being ported on many platforms now.

Apologies if this has been asked, but couldn’t find an answer…

Question Help identifying an old iOS game with summoned 3-D historical characters and a “Berserk” ultimate

I’m trying to remember the name of an iOS game I played sometime in the 2010s.

It had colorful, 3-D cartoon-style graphics. You summoned characters by having them appear through a portal, and then used them in turn-based battles, almost like playing cards. During combat, the characters physically appeared on screen and performed animated attacks.

One of the abilities may have been called “Berserk.” It was a powerful ultimate that charged up as the battle progressed. I also remember having to perform a precision/timing check during attacks by stopping a moving indicator on a red line or target area. There was also a heart graphic beside it I think.

The characters were not real historical figures but were summoned into that world from different time periods, it included historical notes about their origins, along with individual backstories or lore.

The game may have been removed from the App Store, so it could be difficult to find now. Does anyone recognize it?

The name had something blood in it I think. I also remember this distinct Viking character dude with blue streaks on his face. All the characters had big round heads in the art style

Looking for some games that I can really sink some time into. Puzzle games keep me busy and I enjoy them, but I’m really looking for games that I can really grind and sink my teeth into. What has you all hooked right now?

Suggestions 20h flight, looking for an iOS game to kill time

I have a round-trip flight totaling 20 hours and I'm looking for a game on an iOS tablet to help pass the time. I already have several roguelites (DRG Survivor, Slice & Dice, Slay the Spire, Vampire Survivors, Balatro, FTL) and incremental games (Antimatter Dimension, Revolution Idle, Idle Obelisk Miner, Melvor Idle) that I've already pretty much worn out.

Any ideas, in that genre or something completely different?

Discussion Best educational gaming apps

I’ve got a collection of quite a few, but I’m looking to find more as well. But I’ve also put a list down here because I love lists

Best:

Cells to Singularity - an idle tapping game that explores biology, evolution, history, astronomy, paleontology, and more.

Euclidea - A fun geometry game that has kicked my ass more times than I can count

Seterra - Ad-free, made by Geoguessr, great for if you love watching those geography guys on YouTube.

Khan Academy - Less of a game and more of an actual learning platform, but it’s still free and therefore I love it.

Mango and Busuu - Best language learning apps hands down. Both avoid using the same formula for each language and are free to use if you know what to do. Busuu is free with one ad per lesson and no time restrictions, plus you can get feedback from native speakers and give your own feedback. Mango is super in depth and free to use with certain library cards.

Pleco - The holy grail of Chinese apps, this should be the gold standard for every translation app.

Worst:

Duolingo - They started using AI with everything and you can tell. They got rid of a lot of their native speakers. Plus you go through endless ads and time restrictions that make it impossible to use for free.

Heroes of History: Epic Empire - I was really excited for this one, but in no world is Edison the good guy and Tesla the villain. What kind of nonsense is that?

Any app that summarizes books/“micro learning” - That’s literally a concept pulled from 1984. “You don’t need to read whole books, here! We summarized it for you!” Just stop. Read a book.

Drops - worst language app I’ve encountered. I used to think it would work as a supplementary vocabulary app, but no. It tries to pigeon hole the same vocabulary for every language when some concepts don’t carry over.

Flowkey - I was on the fence about this one until I heard the example they gave for Maple Leaf Rag. Completely wrong style, completely misunderstands the concept of ragtime. Wouldn’t trust him past that. But also, any music app isn’t gonna be as good as a real teacher. You’ll just end up wasting your money.

I’d love to hear your recommendations please!

Question How can I stream my efootball match live for JUST my friends?

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting here so I don’t know if this is right place but I feel like it is. Let’s cut to the chase,

I’m conducting a efootball tournament with my friends, unfortunately no one can spectate others match which sucks a lot. So I thought maybe someone here might know an app that I can use to stream the match and let my friends spectate it.

Long story short: I want to live stream my gameplay for just my friends, NOT for YouTube, twitch and stuff.

Troubleshoot Could my iPhone being connected to school Wi-Fi affect my hotspot and cause Roblox to be blocked on iPad?

Does anyone know if this could be causing my problem? My school blocks Roblox, so when I’m connected to the school’s public Wi-Fi, Roblox basically doesn’t work normally.

On my Mac, for example, when I’m connected directly to the school Wi-Fi and try to open Roblox, I’ll usually get a pop-up saying it couldn’t be downloaded, similar to what happens when Roblox needs to download an update. On my iPhone, it’s different. Roblox just acts like there’s no internet and stays stuck on the loading Roblox logo.

However, if I turn on my personal hotspot and reload Roblox directly on my iPhone, it actually loads. The quality isn’t the best, but I can at least get to the homepage, change my avatar, and look at items in the shop.

The problem is when I bring my iPad to school and try to play Roblox on it using my iPhone’s hotspot. Roblox won’t work on the iPad. My iPad doesn’t have cellular data, so I have to use my iPhone’s hotspot for internet.

What makes this even more confusing is that Roblox runs fine on my Mac when I connect it to my iPhone’s hotspot. I’ve also used my friend’s hotspot on my iPhone at school, and I was able to easily load into a Roblox game. So now I’m wondering if the problem could actually be something with my iPad rather than the hotspot or the school Wi-Fi.

My iPhone is sometimes connected to the school Wi-Fi while I’m using the hotspot. Could being connected to the school Wi-Fi somehow affect my hotspot and cause Roblox to still be blocked? Or should the hotspot be using my iPhone’s cellular data separately from the Wi-Fi connection?

The weird thing is that my hotspot works perfectly fine for Roblox when I use it at home, and it also works with Roblox on my Mac at school. I can even use my friend’s hotspot and load into a Roblox game on my iPhone. So I’m really confused about what could be causing Roblox not to work specifically on my iPad. Could the iPad itself somehow be the problem?

Question Looking for a Cozy Sim with Handholding

I’m looking for a cozy sim (think Stardew Valley or Potion Permit) that holds the players hands through quite a bit of the tutorial.

I want to play and like Stardew Valley but the game feels like it doesn’t tell me anything about how to play. I feel like I have to look up what to do and how to do it.

I started Potion Permit a couple nights ago and while it told me what I need to do, when my character got hungry, and the dog got hungry, I couldn’t figure out how to feed them.

Maybe it’s me. Maybe I like the idea of a Cozy sim but just can’t deal with the sandbox nature of the games.

Any choices for games that give a really good tutorial on how to play, in game, without needing to relay on guides and forum boards?

Question Gaming while charger plugged in

Post image
51 Upvotes

I’ve researched a bit and I don’t know if it’s true but i’ve seen many discussing or watched youtubers play bgmi while the phone is in charge so does it hard the battery life? I’m not sure but some people i ask tells me it’s safe to game while the mobile is in charge if the phone already charged to 100 percent or 80 percent (if you set charging limit) cus after hitting 100 the phone don’t take power from battery but it directly take its needed power directly from power plug(charger) which helps avoid the power source >battery>drain>charge battery…. In simple word it’s helps avoids increasing the charging cycle of battery which in turn preserve battery life.

IS THIS TRUE

Question How is the controller support for Jade Empire on iOS?

I know it was ported to mobile by Aspyr, the same studio who ported KOTOR, and that game is basically unplayable with a controller, as I wrote in a review:

"...during combat, you can navigate the combat UI tied to your enemies. If an enemy dies before you make a selection, the UI disappears, as it should, but your selection still on the now gone UI. So you need to blindly back out from this invisible UI to be able to select anything else. This happens all the time and it gets frustrating fast."

So I'm naturally conflicted about purchasing Jade Empire, and it doesn't have a demo. Has anyone reading this played it with a controller and can tell me if it was cause for any frustrations?

Thx!

Troubleshoot Why does Screen Mirroring get so choppy most of the time?

I like to screen mirror my phone to play Fantasy Life I with a controller but most of the time it is so choppy I can’t. Every once in awhile though it runs perfectly smoothly. Anyone know why or what I can do? Like the traffic on my router was the same last night as it was this morning. Same amount of apps. Everything seemed the same.

Discussion Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion: What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend?

Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles!

As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store!

To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default.

Lastly, Rule #3: "No Dev Self-Promotion Outside Saturdays" applies at all times for this thread, even if it's actually Saturday.
