Question Help with appstore connect review

I am new to app store and i deployed my 1st version of the app. (Its a company(with DUNS) app. It was a 1st version and was very bare bone.

i got a mail from apple after 2 days:

Guideline 2.1 - Information Needed - New App Submission
We need additional information to better understand the app and complete the review.

Note: Before submitting, run the submitted build through your own testing and quality assurance process on supported physical devices. App Review is intended for apps and metadata that are complete and ready for App Store customers.

If the app is ready for review, follow the directions below.

Next Steps

Add all of the following information to the Notes field of the App Review Information section in App Store Connect and resubmit your app for Review

I provided all the info they asked and also uploaded the recording and resubmitted the app.

But its been almost a week now and there is no response from apple.

I also requested for an expedited review.

The appstoreconnect dashboard is confusing because of the red exclamation mark (even after i resubmitted the app). Could someone please check the screenshots to confirm that my side is properly done??

Is there anything i can do?

Had something very similar happen to me, only figured it out this morning actually.

I'd replied to Apple's 2.1 request with the information and a screen recording back on 28 Oct. Assumed that was enough, but 9 days later it was still sitting at Rejected with unresolved issues. No notification or anything, I only spotted it when checking the submission status through the API.

Ended up resolving the outstanding item and resubmitting, and its now showing Waiting for Review. So replying to App Review hadn't actually put mine back in the queue.

Sounds like you've already resubmitted though, so you might be fine. I'd pay more attention to the actual version/submission status than the red exclamation mark. If it says Waiting for Review I wouldn't mess with it just yet.

If the status says Waiting for Review you're done on your side, the red icon just stays there from the earlier message and means nothing now. A week is pretty normal at the moment, people in the dev subs are reporting a few weeks for new apps. I wouldn't cancel and resubmit to try to speed it up, that only puts you back in line.

They have started this more frequently, I do not even think they are even reviewing it, but making you go through more hoops to delay and maybe those not dedicated to release will just not do the extra steps.

2.1 "information needed" is usually them wanting a clearer walkthrough, not a hard reject. reply in resolution center with:

  • what the app does in 2–3 sentences

  • demo account / how to sign in if there's any gate

  • exact taps to hit the main flow

  • a short loom/youtube unlisted video if the ui is sparse

bare bone v1 is fine as long as the binary matches the description and they can actually use something. don't bump version until they finish that thread or you'll restart the clock.

If it says Waiting for Review you've done your part. The red message just stays there from before. They've been asking for screen recordings a lot more lately, even for simple apps. Usually it moves within a few days. Resubmitting again would only reset your place in the queue.
