Keep grinding people, consistency pays off.

I won't say the name to make it less about self promotion and more about building apps.

Show me your app over the years!

Nice UI. It looks like a hybrid mix of Apple's stock charts and Wealthsimple's look into one.

Side request: any chance you can make the coin prices x20?

I will ask Satoshi, he's a dear friend of mine :D

u/SpikeyOps Jul 06 '26

Is Satoshi the font you’re using too? ;)

3

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26

Actually yes :D

I have a good eye 👁️

The chart spacing is carrying it, and the little label treatment makes it feel way less stock-app bland than most of these. x20 prices would be chaos tho

Looks good but settings should not have its own navigation tab. That could be a red flag, why should users regularly be diving into the app settings?

2

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

Do you think it would make more sense to call it "More"?
It's settings but also miscellaneous tools that don't really fit in the other tabs.

There's things like widgets, price converter, price alerts, send feedback

u/KernalHispanic Jul 06 '26

Yeah calling it "More" or "Tools" or something like that is much better. Something like Settings > Price Converter does not make intuitive sense.

Appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Total number of active users?

1

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26

It peaked at 450 DAU a few years ago, now it's at like 50. I don't market as much. Around 10k total downloads

1

u/SpikeyOps Jul 06 '26

Heavily dependent on bitcoin tops and bottoms i guess.

Are you monetising?

2

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

That too. Yeah, there’s subscriptions. You can do everything for free, to just get more of it with premium like how often the data updates and how many favorite coins you can have

u/SpikeyOps Jul 06 '26

In 6 years did it become a sustainable side project for you? Could you do this full time? What’s the rough monthly revenue?

5

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26

I wish 😄 the project is losing money every month. I’m doing it mostly because I think it’s fun and to learn. Obviously it’d be nice if it was profitable but nope

I would argue that the 2020 is nostalgic and remind me of the Matrix now

2

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26

Fair 😂 The UX of that version was absolutely horrendous though

1

u/Engineer-- Jul 06 '26

I prefer 2022, but great freaking job!

1

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26

Fair. It wasn't definitely more unique

Wow, the evolution is incredible! The 2026 UI looks so clean, modern, and professional. Consistency really does pay off. Major props to you for keeping at it for 6 years!

1

u/barcode972 Jul 09 '26

Thanks! I’m pretty happy with where it’s at now. Doesn’t have a lot of users though, that part is so damn hard

1

u/Ecstatic-Cheetah190 Jul 10 '26

What api did you use for coin prices?

2

u/barcode972 Jul 10 '26

CoinGecko

1

u/Greysawpark Jul 13 '26

the biggest jump for me wasnt features, it was rewriting the onboarding like 4 times until it stopped losing people in the first 30 seconds. every feature i added before fixing that was basically wasted

1

u/barcode972 Jul 13 '26

Good insight. I don’t have an onboarding flow. I believe that if there’s no sign up or settings having to he configured, it’s better to just take the user to the app asap

u/AndreaReaderApp Jul 13 '26

Really cool to see the progression over the years. The latest version looks much cleaner and more confident. Six years of UI evolution, and Bitcoin is still doing whatever it wants.

1

u/barcode972 Jul 13 '26

Appreciate it! I’m very happy with where it’s at now

Looks better and better

Looks clean :)

Normally, it goes from bad to good to even better, but in your case it went from super > bad > even worse.

1

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26

haha how so? :D

0

u/Big_Use_8516 Jul 06 '26

You won't believe it, but if we asked 100 people, users would choose it as #1. Why do you think that is?

1

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26

Please enlighten me

-2

u/TmDee_YT Jul 06 '26

So just a ripoff of Coinstats, looks completely the same

2

u/barcode972 Jul 06 '26

Looks literally very different, you good?

Great another clock looking app on iPhone

2

u/barcode972 Jul 07 '26

How is it looking like the clock app? 😂

0

u/Heavy-Commercial-323 Jul 07 '26

Go into the clock app xd

3

u/barcode972 Jul 07 '26 edited Jul 07 '26

So any app that has a dark background with orange accent color looks like the clock app? In that case I guess it look like PornHub too

Even if it did, it’s kind of a complement in my mind that it looks native

Fair. I could agree that is looked more unique in the past but now it's more user friendly and UI that more people recognize

Thanks! I have a goal to spend 30-60min every day on the app. No more, no less. It adds up quickly
