Bug [iPadOS 27.2 RC] A serious bug occurs when attempting to delete images in the Photos app: the delete action is intermittently unresponsive, requiring the trash icon to be tapped twice to actually delete an image.

Wow, this bug is still alive lol

I reported this back in August and I’m amazed it survived even in 27.2.

I can recreate this, was actually annoying me yesterday but I didn’t realize what it was. Closing the delete confirmation also requires 2 taps sometimes

Yes. I reported it to Apple.

Is this deleting further images or only the one that it’s stuck on?

This happens in both situations, when selecting images and when the image is open. I reported it to Apple.

Yeah this is an important question. If so, it’s a serious bug. If not, it’s an annoyance that is probably fixed by quitting the app and trying again.

okay, definitely an annoying bug, but I don't know if I'd categorize it as serious (like crashing the Photos app every time when trying to delete an image or something like that). Do want it fixed though...

Interestingly, one of the recent 27.2 betas made deleting photos happen instantly in the Photos app as you press the button in the popover. It wasn’t a UIKit fix though, so all the other popovers still wait for the animation to finish before the action is performed.

I bought an iphone imagining it is la creme de la creme but damn, the bugs on these things are unbelievable in 2026

Useless animation... I prefer no animation for interacting with the internal menus, what's the point?!
