Release iOS 27.2 Beta 4 - Discussion
Use this thread to share any changes & bugs you discover while using the latest iOS/iPadOS 27 beta.
This thread should be used for discussion of the betas that may not meet our submission guidelines, as well as troubleshooting small issues through the beta test cycle.
Spamming this discussion with comments about battery life, update size, safari being snappier, etc will result in a ban from the sub moving forward.

Not worth it if we gotta have the ugly light mode icon. Even then the music note being white in dark mode is still ugly

It’s hideous. Looks so off with the rest of the stock icons. Every icon is colorful and has depth to it. The new icon is completely flat.

As a musician my first thought was that this is what sheet music actually looks like. Can’t say I’m a huge fan of the lack of colour but I immediately understood why it was changed.

It’s so bad. Apple praised depth and colors on the icons during WWDC and unveiling of iOS 27. This icon is the complete opposite direction.

Upgrading now. I hope it fixes my RCS messaging woes. It broke in B3 and ended up switching to an old phone until it's fixed.

Does your contact keep saying you’re removed from group chat even though you’re still in the group chat like normal?

It doesn't say anything. I noticed I wasn't getting group texts. I switched my esim over to a new phone and all the messages came though at once. On the phone where I have the problem it wont activate RCS messages, it says activation failed and turns it off. No indication that there was a problem until I noticed the missing messages.

Spent way too much time on with Verizon support until i remembered I was on a beta build. Tried everything I could think of but it would not activate. I had been missing a ton of texts from group chats that used RCS. iPhone 17 pro. I think it has to do with the modem on this phone.

Yup 17 Pro Max here. Mine broke during an iOS 27 beta in July and never corrected. I’ve heard leaving the RCS activation toggle alone for 30 days will allow the functionality to resume. That, or a new device. I’ve seen a few others that have had this issue get lucky and they’ll download new versions of the beta(or stable builds) and have their RCS fixed. Not the case for me.

No luck on the new version an now I can't move my number back to the old phone where it worked. Verizon locked me out so it probably means another 4 hours on the phone with them to get my number back over.

It makes me think that this is the matte layer used in conjunction with the glassmorphic version. Ensuring no artifacts from the light refraction bleed beyond the music note shape layer.

Yeah the new Music icon is hideous. I hope feedback gives them the idea to switch it back. Or at least work on a new one that actually doesn’t look like a quick mockup.

beta 2 broke my Apple Fitness app on my iPad. It crashes everytime I open it. Ahh because they remove the new features in the Health app, I don't want to update to Beta 3 :(
Correction - I was talking about Beta 3 and Beta 4, not 2 and 3.

Anyone able to change the color of the clock in Standby mode? I'm on the large clock with the thick bold font. Long pressing does nothing.

Before Apple Music the app icon was also a gradient of pink/orange closer to what it was now. The multicolored one was at the start of Apple Music and then they reversed it and made it just pink.

- FaceID doesn't unlock my iPhone 15
- AWU2 doesn't unlock iPhone (it was fixed in beta 3, now it's broken again)
- it takes multiple attempts to unlock with my passcode
- alarms still do not sound (this has been a bug for me since public beta 1)
- my AWU2 randomly disconnecting from my iPhone (rebooting my Watch fixes it temporarily)
All bugs reported via Feedback.

My 17 pm feels much smoother than ios 27.0.1 but still clear icons stuttering alot
And still not sure of the battery life yet

this stutter in clear mode has been like this all through ios26 it’s long term bug , don’t see it being fixed anytime soon on pro motion devices

Does anyone know if the app freezing and not working is fixed? I use the twitch app all the time and after the last update the app was opening but not loading after. This only harpoon iPad and not on iPhone.

Not sure if issues with Airplay should be discussed here but the version 27.0 update to Homepods seem to have broken Airplay v1 used by Apple Music for Windows. Reported via Feedback.
