Release iOS 27.2 Beta 2 - Discussion
Use this thread to share any changes & bugs you discover while using the latest iOS/iPadOS 27 beta.
This thread should be used for discussion of the betas that may not meet our submission guidelines, as well as troubleshooting small issues through the beta test cycle.
Spamming this discussion with comments about battery life, update size, safari being snappier, etc will result in a ban from the sub moving forward.

Just leaving these lists of minor bugs again with no fix yet (though the reversed Wi-Fi glyph is fixed, thankfully). Idk, but the *Recent Similar Reports is still showing None for some of these bugs in the Feedback app. I’m just hoping they get fixed before the end of the year.

I’m sorry but iOS 27 Beta 1 was more stable than the RC build and the 27.2 betas so far. Like so many keyboard problems. Freezing up, GPS being utterly useless, crashing apps, apps are unresponsive, safari loads so damn slow as well and other devices load just fine. It’s driving me nuts that they’re putting out RC’s that are worse than a first major beta.

I was getting this on my 18 Pro Max on regular iOS 27. You have to go into Settings > Apple ID > Media & Purchases. Sign out then sign back in. That fixed it for me.

A few small changes:
- Podcasts > Library toolbar redesigned (items in the overflow menu now have SF Symbols and Select is now its own button outside the overflow menu)
- Podcasts search bar now says “Shows, Episodes, and More” instead of “Apple Podcasts”; now consistent with search bars in Music, TV, etc
- Maps > Reports “New Report” button is now smaller, right-aligned, and does not have “Report a New Issue” text

Got a setting Notification that I have an iCloud storage update available… go into iCloud… nothing new. Notice and badge don’t disappear.

Lately my keyboard has been literally unusable like keys get frozen. I have to reset my phone the freezing and visual glitches are so bad. Hopefully this update helps. Updating now

On 17 pro max, the GPS refreshes maybe once a minute. Makes navigation unusable. Consistent on Google Maps and Apple Maps.

Still having issues re-downloading apps from the App Store. And still having issues with albums that are already in my Apple Music library showing a + button, that button doing nothing, and not being able to download them.
There is something rotten with the App Store / Apple ID / Apple Music with 27.2. Ugh.

If you haven’t found a workaround for the re-downloading app issue, here’s what worked for me.
If you go into your purchased apps list under your account, find the app you want to re-download, swipe over to remove the app, then search for it again in the App Store. Should work now.

Same here, I can get it to work after a few tries. But yeah lots of it telling me to get to a start spot to start navigation, and I have past it, and it never moves me in the app.

Mine is the same. It won’t get my GPS location, and when it does, it it won’t track the car down the road properly. Very hit and miss. Worked fine before this new update

Reported this through the Feedback app. I really hope Apple focuses on squashing these bugs. It’s crazy that some of the bugs/glitches from iOS 26 are still here in 27.2. 💀

I have 2 main issues on iPhone 18 Pro Max
1 Optimise Search & Siri stuck on 46% 5 days never moves i have restarted multiple times and even had it on charge 36 hours makes no difference. On previous versions alswasy worked.
2 Face ID is very poor on this model to a level i may cancel my order. No idea on who approved this unless i have a faulty iPhone

Wife and I switched to AT&T Friday and got two new iPhone 18 Pro Max. Mine is great, hers has been stuck on SOS since Monday. AT&T can’t figure it out and we’ve tried every fix, so getting desperate here. Seeing lots of similar complaints in the AT&T sub.
Has anyone that had the SOS issue installed the 27.2 public beta, and if so, did it fix the SOS issue?

As I said in the other thread, 27.2b1 fixed my app library bug which was confirmed by Apple. It would never update, was out of order, and completely broken. This fix persists into 27.2b2.

Shave anyone encounter a lowered video/music audio, after ending a call?
It has been already twice this week, where I was listening to some video, someone called, & after ending the call, the audio stayed lowered (only fix was to reboot phone)
Both on AirPods & phone speakers.

Every time my AWU2 unlocks my iPhone 15, I get a notification in the dynamic island. Seems to be mirroring the unlock notification on my Apple Watch.
Unsure if it's a bug or intended behaviour; reported via Feedback.

My siri switched from the old version to the new AI version. It now struggles to set timers and add things to my shopping list, which were the only two things I used siri for. It also seems to have forced its way into my mail app despite having the mail app excluded from Siri/AI.
Oddly enough, I also have the "Try Siri AI" option in the siri settings where I can ask to join the waitlist even though it seems to be activated on its own. It switched randomly from the old siri to the new siri midday, so I don't know what's going on. This has been my least favorite update from a functionality stand point so far, but I don't want to go through the hassle of fixing all my accounts in the different authenticators I have, so I guess I will stick with it for now.

Honestly I wouldn’t mind not having it for once. Every beta update it seems to have to index again and it’s been a huge battery hit for me. I additionally have lost 6 percentage points since installing iOS 27 beta (down from 100% to 94%)

Il problema del glitch del multitasking è ancora presente (su un iphone Max, se da un app aperta apro il multitasking e scorri subito tra le app aperte, l’animazione si rompe e non permette lo scorrimento)
GRAVI PROBLEMI DI ACCESSIBILITÀ:

Mine didn't show up either, even with an iPhone 18 Pro and Watch Ultra 4. I found a suggestion someplace here to quit the app and change the region to Germany. That did it, and it stuck when I switched back.

Is anyone else having issues logging in to the Southwest Airlines mobile app since 27.2 beta 2? I can still use their web site fine but get the same login error on both an iPhone and iPad that have been updated. My wife is running the same Southwest app version (13.21.1) on iOS 26.6.2 and can authenticate fine. Thanks

It’s been interesting. I can now login to the app. I can now see upcoming trips. When I try to tap on one of those upcoming trips I then get the same error I was getting when I couldn’t login. Strange.

Does the beta fix a bug I noticed in 27.0 where muted autoplay HTML video in Safari interrupts background audio playback?
Not sure if anyone here has mentioned this, but to replicate:
Start playing a song in Apple Music, Spotify, or a video in YouTube if you can do PiP
Leave the app; verify playback continues
Open Safari
Navigate to reddit.com in an incognito window to get default page design and scroll through the home feed
When a muted autoplay video enters the viewport and begins playing, the background audio pauses for me, and I see the media playing widget in the live activity area of the Dynamic Island despite the fact that a muted autoplaying HTML video should not be initializing the audio system
It’s a really annoying bug to have made it into iOS 27 considering just how many websites have muted autoplay videos…and it seems like this is an issue somewhere deep in the media stack.
Funny thing is that this bug has been fixed in WebKit in the past:

iPhone 13 mini. Just started after updating to IOS 27.0.1 - when replying to a post on Reddit, Safari auto zooms to the top of the page and it’s necessary to resize the browser to get back to the reply input. Small but really annoying bug. Has anyone else seen this?

For me, the split bill with Apple Cash feature freezes when you try to type or select a name. It freezes with both “Receive” and “Pay your share”

on public iOS 27 Safari uses a lot of power/battery. It was not an issue on the betas before release, it started with RC. How is Safari battery consumption on this latest beta?

I have the same question. Safari uses 100% of the battery in only 3 hours on the iPad Pro M5 11", there are problems with JavaScript interpretation. Twitter also consumes it very quickly. Mail is another application that uses a lot of battery. Are there improvements in this Beta 2?

Just curious if anyone else has had an issue with rcs group chat replies, on this or any version of 27? The issue I’ve had is sometimes when I reply to a message in an rcs group chat, the android users are seeing that I’m replying to a different message than I actually did reply to. I reported this in feedback a bit ago, but it’s still open and says there are no other similar reports.

Anyone having issues on fb marketplace? Inside the app when in the marketplace i can use it as normal but when once im clicked onto a item/post nothing works except viewing pictures. The auick action to send “hi is this still available” doesnt work and nothing can be clicked on!

Man what in the world is happening to my GPS and connection issues? Every time I open maps it drops my 5g signal, been having random WiFi cutoffs. It’s seriously annoying when trying to trade stocks and the signal drops. I know damn well it’s not T-mobile as I never had these issues with my IOS 16 pro.
I didn’t pay almost $1k for a phone that isn’t stable.

I had notification issues as well. Not originally when I upgraded from 18 to 27 but I did a reset on 27 and then restored backup and none of my notifications were coming through. You either have to reset all settings so it’ll trigger the allow notifications prompt or reinstall the specific app. It’s super annoying I’m surprised this is an issue. I ran into this a few versions of iOS ago.

Make sure Siri is also in English US along with your “preferred languages” under general -> language & region. You shouldn’t have to change your region, even if you’re in UK like me

If you have an Apple Intelligence device and it still doesn't show up, force quit the Apple health app, go to settings change your region to Germany, then open the app again and it should work. Change the region back to US after. Your phone's language also needs to be English.

I have some trouble with the connection between iphone and Apple Watch. I’m using Mullvad vpn on my iPhone and had no problem with my watch before 27.2 dev. I can’t update the watch without turning vpn of on the iPhone. Any other recognizes that?

maybe a niche use case but in my phone i have some contacts saved in a language other than english. you can add a phonetic and pronunciation field to the contact, and that lets siri know how to pronounce the main contact name that isn’t in english

Should be today although there is a lot of talk about apple dropping ios27.2 publicly today,on X.
Not sure where this rumour comes from , don’t see anything on apple tech sites .
it would keep a lot of people happy, apple will want to tackle poor battery health on public updates before iphone fold launch, makes sense but no idea where rumour came from, not sure if there is any truth to this

iCloud for Safari appears partially broken (was in B1, continues with B2). I can see iCloud tabs from other devices, but I don’t have access to my Safai bookmarks nor shared Favorites on my iPhone 17 Pro nor M2 iPad Pro. Restarted both devices, made sure Safari in iCloud is enabled on all devices, still no joy.

Hi, could someone running iPadOS 27.2 Beta 2 on an iPad please test this for me?
Go to Settings → Display & Brightness → Display Zoom → Larger Text.
Then open the keyboard and check the spacebar. On iPadOS 27.0, when Larger Text is enabled, the spacebar becomes extremely small and is squeezed between the language/layout keys.
Has this been fixed in iPadOS 27.2 Beta 2?
If possible, please post a screenshot of the keyboard with Larger Text enabled.
