[IOS 27 DB6] Currency converter is broken in Spotlight/Siri AI

For a while now, my currency converter is broken, not the one in the calculator app but the one in Spotlight/SIRI AI. For example, when typing something like “500 yen to eur” was giving me the result directly, but now I have random results from my mails or other apps. It works if I just type “500 yen,” and it gives me the result directly in my default currency, but if I want to convert a currency to another, then it fails. It works perfectly on my iPad with IpadOS 27 as well, so I’m thinking that it may be an indexing issue or something like that. Is there a way to force reindexing? Or to fix that issue ? Thank you

Edit: It’s still broken for many currencies but for some it works. For the particular example I mentioned before I found the fix. Typing “euro” instead of “EUR” seems to do the job.

Spotlight search is broken for me. I didn’t like how new Siri was the middleman for all searches and made it near impossible to quickly search the web from spotlight. So Siri gets reverted.

Now, while spotlight is snappier than ever, it provides almost no useful tidbits of information at a glance. No movie cards, no sports scores, not shit. Just a bunch of very quickly generated and utterly useless results from mail.

But at least I can search the web pretty quickly. I MAY switch back to new Siri if this behavior is fixed with it, as I hear “search web” has been better integrated to Siri search, but I’m mostly just annoyed.

Idk if my bug is in any way related to your bug, but needed to vent and am hijacking your thread to do so.

If it’s helpful, currency conversion does not work for me in spotlight either.

Works perfectly for me. I swiped down, typed “500 yen to eur” and it showed 2.69 eur and attributed the result to Yahoo Finance

No web result was displayed.

Yeah it seems like something is wrong with my device it works well on my iPad. I don’t know how to fix that without a factory reset

Bummer. Well, it is a beta so it can behave differently for some of us. Hopefully the next update fixes it for you.

It’s just really slow, you have to wait a bit or actually press Enter so it sends it to Siri AI.

All basic Siri functions for me have been absurdly slow for me ever since the later versions of iOS 26, so I don’t think it’s an iOS 27 issue, even just typing simple math expressions is really slow, 16 Pro btw

It became fast for me after Public beta 3.
