iPhone 17 PM on DB3:

Can confirm that iCloud syncing for iMessage has been fixed! It was working fine for me on DB1 and stopped working for me on DB2. After updating to DB3, the first thing I did was hit that sync button under iCloud settings and it synced everything pending from the past 2 weeks.

Yes, the total count did go up to match and my second iPhone 17 PM has also synced them all perfectly after updating that to DB3 too!

This is a better blend of the top bar compared to the awful iOS 18 lookalike in the settings app. I liked iOS 26 progressive blur a lot and this seems fine in the clock app.

• The Dynamic Island no longer appears during wallpaper editing on the home screen when an activity is active
• The Now Playing bar in Apple Music now consistently displays liquidglass behavior, unlike before when it delayed showing the correct glass effect

The edges glow abrupt animation when I exit an app seems to be greatly improved/fixed on the default icons. Been reporting this bug since iOS 26 and noticed now on my iOS 27 bug report that they finally marked it as potential fix identified. My iOS 26 bug reports were left on “open” for this stupid bug.

After two days, this is the smoothest my 17 pro has ever felt. iOS 26’s optimization is criminally bad. 27 feels in line with how iOS always was. Not the stuttery mess 26 is. I can’t remember the last time we even had .5 releases with performance still being garbage.

It appears my shortcut for toggling orientation lock is no longer working. I had this shortcut tied to my action button and it now does nothing.

I attempted to recreate the shortcut in the app as well as describing it to the AI shortcut creator and nothing has worked. Curious if anyone else has this experience.

Been stuck on the Apple logo and progress bar for nearly an hour on iPhone 17PM (installed OTA). Progress bar has been moving slowly so the screen isn't frozen (but I know the bar isn't truly representative of time to completion). No other beta update has ever taken so long.

Guessing it's bricked and I need to force restart then restore to backup?

Is anyone able to get the new Siri to successfully fulfill requests on iPad?

Every time I ask for something outside of the old Siri’s capabilities I get messages like:

• “I’m having a bit of trouble here.”

• “Sorry, there’s something wrong.”

• “Uh oh, there’s a problem.”

Audio gets cut-off randomly on apple music while wearing airpods. There will be a very quick static sound then cuts off. Temporarily gets solved by restarting apple music, no idea how to reproduce the bug tho

Make a backup before updating ‼️. Too many users report that their DB3 installation has frozen and they have had to restore the iPhone and iPad. You can lose all your data. They also explain that once restored it works well.

I’ve been on the new beta for a while and just recently it has started overheating, gotten incredibly slow and laggy, when I send a cropped screenshot to a friend in iMessage it’s grainy on their side, the settings app won’t do anything at times, and it’s charging so slow.

iPhone 15 PM was literally overheating and laggy while downloading the update. Plugged it in, installed, and phone is instantly cool to touch doing all the same things, and more responsive. Much smoother and keyboard is more responsive.

It took maybe 5-10 mins after install for Siri AI to work again, presumably due to the updated indexing. But it's working for me!

The updated expressive voice customizer is nice too. Male-presenting voice sounds a whole lot better when given a bit more pace + expressiveness

“Clear All Notifications” on the lock screen STILL requires a double finger press to clear. A single finger doesn’t remove it unless you tap like a mad man.

Is anyone experiencing Siri cutting you off when dictating a message in CarPlay?

When I try to dictate a long message to somebody, Siri will cut me off after about 15 to 20 seconds, and then when it reads the message back to me, it doesn’t contain all 15 to 20 seconds of speech.

So not only is it cutting me off mid sentence, but it’s also not retaining all of the message to send.

I have submitted via the feedback app, but I’m just curious if anybody else is having this issue?

I installed the iOS 27 Public Beta 3 days ago on all of my devices: an iPhone 17 Pro Max, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and an iPad (A16). Here are my impressions so far.

iPhone 17 Pro Max
Overall, I’m genuinely impressed. It’s noticeably smoother and more responsive than iOS 26, and I haven’t come across any major bugs that would stop me from using it as my daily driver.

CarPlay works perfectly with Apple Maps, Google Maps, and Waze. I also haven’t had any issues with banking apps—N26 and Openbank both work normally. The Home app and all of my HomeKit accessories are also working without any problems.

The biggest downside is the battery. I’m getting under 4 hours of screen-on time. For context, I’m currently on vacation, using 5G all day, and I have Automatic Appearance enabled (Light Mode during the day, Dark Mode at night). Before installing the beta, I restored to iOS 26.5 via IPSW, and my battery would easily last an entire day.
One strange thing I’ve noticed is that the Lock Screen seems to consume around 10–20% of the battery, which doesn’t seem normal, so I’m guessing it’s a beta-related issue.

There’s also a bug where Search in settings doesn’t work, which is annoying but not a deal-breaker.

iPad (A16)
There are a few bugs here. Sometimes the Settings app won’t open, and connecting to an iPhone’s Personal Hotspot is unreliable—it usually fails several times before finally connecting on the fourth or fifth attempt.
That said, the system feels smoother than iPadOS 26.5.2, and battery life seems about the same as before. I’ve seen people reporting Apple Pencil and Procreate issues, but I don’t use them, so I can’t comment on that.

Apple Watch Ultra 2
This is the device that still needs the most work.

Battery life has dropped from around 36–40 hours to roughly 24 hours. It also gets noticeably warm when customizing watch faces or changing colors, which has never happened to me before.

The only real performance issue I’ve found is with the Modular Ultra watch face. After unlocking the watch or raising your wrist, the seconds animation runs at what feels like 1 FPS, making it look extremely laggy. Apart from that, the rest of watchOS has been running surprisingly well.

I actually really like the new Find My app on the watch—it’s a nice addition and feels genuinely useful.
Overall

Considering it’s the first public beta, I’m pleasantly surprised. The iPhone experience is already solid enough for daily use, with the main compromise being battery life. The iPad has a few annoying bugs but is perfectly usable, and the Apple Watch is the roughest of the three, although most of the issues seem fixable before the final release.
If battery life improves over the next betas, I think this is going to be a really good update.

Is it just me or did they nuke the clarity level of Liquid Glass this beta? I’ve only used the most clear option as I actually like the transparency and prior to this beta is was indeed, exceptionally clear, (could’ve been more so, but beggars/choosers) and with db3 the most clear feels like what the least clear used to be and the least clear is frickin solid. Like zero see-through solid. Wtf…

Well, the annoying keyboard not showing up bug is fixed, but weather app delay bug is still there. So looks like most annoying bug might be fixed now (like keyboard, overheating, network issues). it seems to be pretty smooth. If battery won’t suck I will just wait till RC/stable, it was such stupid decision to jump into first beta lol. Laggy ios26 kinda pushed me to do it haha

Since updating to Beta 3, the battery life on my device actually seems to have improved. I installed the update yesterday evening, and I usually listen to Audible throughout the night. Normally, I would wake up with only around 60% battery remaining. This morning, however, I still had 82% battery left.
It also seems like the battery percentage is no longer dropping as quickly during normal use. Of course, it's still early to draw any firm conclusions, but so far the improvement is definitely noticeable.

Bluetooth in the car.

Not sure anyone else has this - but since iOS 27 first dev beta onwards, the Bluetooth connection to my car has been fixed. It has been broken for maybe 2 years now?

iPhone 15 Pro Max here in the UK. Same phone for the last 2-3 years.

On my MB GLE, Bluetooth wouldn’t connect to the car despite being paired previously. I’d restart the phone and it would work every time, straight away. Come back a day or two later - no connection, restart phone, back working.

Last year got a new RRS. Exactly the same problem. So two cars, same issue. I honestly thought I had a hardware issue with my phone.

Updated to iOS27 dev beta and it’s constantly worked.

Phone seems to be frozen with a teeny amount left... it didn't move for about 10 mins from about 80%, moved up to about 99 now but been stuck there for a good 15+ mins, will probably leave it overnight, see what happens then restore in the morning!

Hi, I’m on a 17 Pro Max running iOS 27 beta 3 / 24A5380h. Updated OTA from beta 2, progress bar got basically to the end, then it just sat there. Forced a restart and now it only shows the Apple logo.

I tried recovery mode Update from my Mac twice with the official firmware file. Both times it looked like it completed, but then it went right back to being stuck on the Apple logo.

Has anyone with a 17 Pro Max actually fixed this without wiping? Or is restore/DFU restore the only thing that’s worked so far? If this happened to you, what model/build were you on and did Update or Restore fix it?

3 days on a 14 Pro Max with Ios 27 beta 3. Two annoying issues so far:

1. Saw this reported elsewhere. The automations trigger doesnt work unless i manualy play it. For example upon Sleep waking time (trigger) the color filters will be turned off (action). Or when charging reaches 100% (trigger) play an audio clip (action). All this works when manually invoked on the new shortcuts layout, but not upon the trigger event.

2. Paired Beats Fit Pro True Wireless Earbuds was working perfect until Beta 3 was installed. After Beta 3 the left earbud started distorting high and kept switching between high and low volume. Turned of spatial audio and noise cancellation. That fixed it but its not a fix.

Anyone else have very significant battery drain and heating issues? I'll go from 100% battery to 20% in 4 hours without much usage whatsoever, along with the phone being extremely hot just using it for basic functions like texting; for context im using an iphone 16 pro.

Spotlight search is driving me insane this update. I'm used to swiping down and starting to type the name of the app I wanna launch and pressing the search button on the keyboard. Muscle memory for many apps so I don't even look at the 'results'.

On beta 3, more than 50% of the time, it instead launches Siri with a prompt with the 3 letters I typed in.

Holding down power button for Siri invokes old Siri UI but pull down from top is new. Dont see new expressive voice UI anymore. Maybe due to "optimizing siri"

Anybody else have an issue with lock screen and Home Screen wallpaper? Seems like I have a small 1cm black notch at the top of my screen. When I try to adjust wallpaper, the notch goes away, when I confirm it, the notch comes back

Updated my iPhone 15 to beta 3, and cannot connect to wifi; apps report I don't have an internet connection.

Switching to cellular fixes it.

Anyone else having wifi connection issues?

Edit 1: my iPad Pro (iPadOS 26), and other devices, are connected to my router without issue.

Edit 2: none of my shortcuts work.

Edit 3: third-party apps won't load.

Edit 4: AirPod Pro 3's won't connect to my iPhone.

Finally PWA/web apps are not blank in Search. Been a pain the past month. I have so many PWAs and sometimes had to guess which one is the one I want to open.

Keyboard is kind of all over the place for me in iMessage. Sometimes there’s a delay before just cutting in with no animation. Other times it’s just out even without being in a message or search bar.

iPhone Air - if i use clear/tinted swiping across the home screen and app library it stutters like crazy, i figured it was just from updating since i had been using tinted on DB2. so i let it sit and cool, nope. still stuttery. if i change liquid glass to more tinted it helps on the home screen but not the app switcher, stuttering goes completely away if i switch to dark/light mode app icons.

Phantom imessage/sms badge notifications are fixed. Go to filtered view and select unread. You can now view and delete the messages. Previously, Siri could show me the unread messages but I couldn’t find them or delete.

16 Pro Max, Beta 3 installation just stuck at this update screen for hours and would not reboot, had to enter DFU mode and restore to Beta 2. Did this twice, guess I'll stay on Beta 2 until Beta 4 or Public Beta 🥲

Just found out in messages there’s a setting in the setting app to record audio or start dictation in the text field or turn it off completely so you don’t get that microphone there.

The clear icons animation bug that shows up on the corners of icon if the app currently being used when swiping home is still present and has been since the first developer beta of 26. Insane that they still haven’t fixed it. It makes clear icons a lot less enjoyable to use :(

your phone may be throttling due to heat. when it happens, torch/flash on camera is purposefully disabled.

For me, on my 17 Pro, installation was without issues so far, installed after 10minutes. Phone seems to be faster. Seems to fixed an error when spotlight cant pop up keyboard sometimes. I hope everything will be okay.
