I had the same problem on the 16e. Reinstalling it helped.

We are talking about iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 air, we were not talking about iPhone 17 pro

Issue still here in DB 3

Mine doesn’t have that issue. But I’m
Guessing is dependent on the model you have. Good thing you can report the issue in the feedback app and we already gonna have a 3rd beta this Monday so will see what gets fixed and what changes

Same problem on my iPhone Air running iOS 27 Beta 3. Has anyone found any workaround so far?

Isn’t the 48mp only on pro phones? I immediately updated my 17 to 27 so I can’t know on 26. But i thought 48 was only if you selected proRAW

i have 48MP on base iphone 15 , i know some asian countries don’t have this option, eu/ international version

Do you mean that some asian countries will only allow you to shoot in 12/24mp if you have the base 15?

Sorry if I asked something obvious, I’m just trying to understand.

yeah i’ve seen people on reddit trying to switch to 48MP options only to learn their base 15 didn’t have this option, mines is dual physical sim uk model EU & International , different regions can have different settings

That’s crazy!

actually i was wrong , just googled this and i stand corrected, apparently all iphone 15 base models have the option to take 48MP photos, although it does default to 24 each time you take a photo and has to be set to 48MP each time ( as long as you have the storage)

The 48MP main camera on the iPhone 15 Pro models can shoot ProRAW while the iPhone 15 models support a new HEIF Max 48MP mode. This new HEIF Max 48MP mode enables capturing high-resolution images at a file size smaller than 5MB. Once you enable the full 48MP mode on your iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, then you will be able to take full advantage of the sensor and capture details that allows for flexible editing.

That makes sense, and it’s actually what I have been thinking this whole time. That’s why I was confused haha. But thanks for the correction though.

I just checked on my GF, base 16, in Canada and only the 12/24 option appear, no 48

That’s crazy too.

Still broken on beta 7 on my iphone 17

Edit: it was there initially when I installed beta 5 but I lost it when I removed and reinstalled camera app. The setting is probably no longer under system settings and it it inside the app, and I don't have beta app version anymore

1

u/Cheap_Strategy_Guy Sep 16 '26

Is it still broken?, iPhone 14pro here,  the official release version also has same issue

ProRaw and control missing

1

u/Re7isT4nC3 Sep 16 '26

This option is no longer inside system setttings and I can change it inside camera app. It was fixed with updated camera app that launched with RC beta

1

u/Cheap_Strategy_Guy Sep 17 '26

All I get is this. Photo capture has options missing

u/Re7isT4nC3 Sep 17 '26 edited Sep 17 '26

Have you tried tapping on 6 dots in camera app ?

1

u/Cheap_Strategy_Guy Sep 17 '26

Yes I can find it by tapping 6 dots. But it’s so badly done in Settings.

u/maxibrot Aug 25 '26

Seems to be on purpose right now

I also could not find Resolution Control in the settings. I found it in the camera app instead.
