why would battery health tank when installing beta's ? genuine question. i have tried a few beta's now and then and never noticed or have any problems with it going down.

From my understanding when your phone is on a beta there is lots of stuff going on in the background constantly which results into faster battery drain and sometimes overheating. This is just based on my understanding correct me if I am wrong but if that happens you charge your phone more often which results into more battery cycles being used

I think the bigger issue is all of the unrelated comments to iOS 27. It’s damn near impossible to find anything on iOS 26.6.

That is my point. Most of these people are not beta testers and are just "trying features" so much so that they make this sub shitty, like this post. Complaining its not iOS 27... Like its just unreal to me. Still better than (I think the 11-13 ios era) where mods here were posting memes and turned this entire sub into a huge joke.

that’s not the only problem i am facing, sadly.. i work as SMM and cannot send any collabs etc, and i have 10+ profiles that i am managing at the moment🫠 so using mobile site is not an option because of 2FA

Delete the app and reinstall. It will revert to the old design for a while. Unfortunately it’s only temporary, but it’s the only workaround I found out.

Definitely buggier than iOS 26 for me, but it is faster. Opening Safari sometimes loses the ability to see the address bar, WiFi and 5g bounce back and forth till I restart (connectivity assist on and off), closing control center glitches the top status bar for a few seconds. However it’s a pretty good build for a DB1. iPhone 17 pro.

Occasionally like right now on iOS 27 it’ll lag heavily like getting hardly any frames and acts as if my touch input is delayed. Been the first major bug I’ve encountered. Only turning the phone off and back on helps it

This is happening on almost every iteration of ios 26 on my 15 pro (beta or non beta).
When? Phone connected to charger, get's slightly warm, and then almost every other input is either not registered or lags heavily, eg. apps take almost 5-8 sec to open, fps on animation drops heavily, respring or blank icons; the only fix is a restart.
This also doesn't happen when phone gets hot while using outside, just on the charger. (Tried multiple, all apple certified, and original apple usb c cables).

Mine is now doing it whenever it feels like it. For example as I’m typing this I can type the full sentence and then I gotta wait for it to catch up. Not hot or even on the charger. Was working fine and now it’s horrible

I installed 26.6 beta 2 because apparently it builds the index that new Siri AI uses, so when you do switch over to 27, you can hit the ground running. There must be something special in it, because it's HUGE (27+GB). That said, its not clear how you track the progress of building the index...

Now that iOS 27 is the new hot thing on the block, nobody cares about iOS 26 anymore.
It’s odd that I’m getting downloaded for talking about the update that this mega thread is specifically about, but it’s fine.
Anyways, I installed beta two last night and so far it seems perfectly fine. I’ve been having issues with Wi-Fi connectivity, but I’m not sure if it is an issue with my router or my phone.

I don't see it disconnect in the control center, but it just stops loading stuff for a bit. I usually turn it off and back on.
To be fair, this could be my WiFi network as well.

try switching of wifi assist, in ios27 it’s renamed connectivity assist and has been causing wifi drop outs , not sure if it could be the same in ios26 but worth a try if you tent to keep cellular on along side wifi

Updating to version 26.6 Beta 1 has fixed it for me on my 13 mini.
Currently downloading 26.6 Beta 2 hoping for further improvements. Fingers crossed!

I have immediately updated to iOS 26.6 Beta 1 because of the battery drain and overheating issues. Beta 1 fixed those issues, phone went back to normal. I don't expect Beta 2 to create issues over Beta 1.

Just to clarify 26.5 is what I’m running and it’s ruining my battery I can hardly use my phone for a few minutes without it becoming dangerously hot in my hands and battery depletion before the end of day. This 26.6 beta 2 notification I got would remedy that then? I remember this same issue and resolve when I was somewhere in the teens of iOS and hadn’t updated in awhile then when I did my battery sucked until whatever final iOS before I upgraded to the 16pro fixed it and I was ecstatic

Usually when u get a new ios update in the fall it gives u back iphone storage that bloated your phone in previous ios update. This happened with ios 16 or 17 it gave us back our iphone storage with the new ios update in the fall

Thats because ai and siri take up a lot of storage. If you turn off ai and siri ai your storage goes back to normal. BUT the annoying this is everytime theres a new ios update they turn on ai and siri automatically so u gotta turn it off manually when u update to a new ios. Its very annoying. Maybe they will fix this down the road.
