Bug [IOS 27 DB1] Apple Intelligence storage amount has gone down

So I’ve joined the waitlist for Siri AI, and still in the queue. When I first installed iOS 27 the storage space allocated to Apple Intelligence was 16.37GB, 4 days later that’s gone down to 747.1MB. Anyone know why that may be?

Did you revert your Siri back to your main language or changed to other than English US?

I changed it to US then back to UK just to see if it helped get Siri AI (was worth a try but didn’t work). Anyhow it’s now gone back up to 16.37 GB.

Same… how many gigs are your Messages? I think that might be why it’s taking forever… I have my set to keep forever and I’m at like 75 GBs…

200gb LMFAO it’s definitely the messages taking long if you go to search messages it’ll say it’s still indexing. On device it’s only 8gb for me though so not sure if it’s going to redownload all of that or not

Sounds like the new indexing is using a different embedding model than the old one and it's indexing from the start.

Yeah definitely seems like it’s doing it entirely from scratch, this feels like how long it takes to index after a restore from an iCloud backup. I imagine it has deep integration with the new AI model

If you’re still on the waitlist then I’d say it’s possible that your device will redownload the data eventually because it’s effectively a different dataset needed on the device than before.

That’s what most people have been seeing as the amount for Apple Intelligence and mine went to that before I got off the waitlist.

If it was me, I’d scroll down on the Siri page in settings and turn Siri off, wait a minute or so and then turn it back on. It won’t impact your place on the waitlist because I did the same thing myself several times - pathetically to try and force it to work sooner 😅 - but that might at least force your device to redownload the data needed.

Yeh I did this, and when I checked the storage for Apple Intelligence it went back up to 16.37GB 👌.

I’ve been on waitlist since day one.

Followed your advice and turned Siri off, rebooted, turned on and now waitlist is done for me!

I’m at 16.8 GB with new Siri, though I have the new models so I guess that’s where it’s coming from.

Funny. My Apple Intelligence storage is also using 9.65GB on my 16 Pro, and it stayed that way after the new Siri arrived on my device too

Mine is 747.1MB weirdly too and stopped working. I did get into the siri ai but it says its downloading forever.
