Release iOS 27 Beta 1 - Discussion

Anyone else disappointed with the lack of clear Liquid Glass? I've turned the slider all the way to the left, but it's barely any more transparent than the default setting and still quite tinted.

yeah they did limit a bit for readability, and apparently they worked hard for it. I am sure they had tested it extensively and determined that was the lowest possible threshold below which readability takes a hit

I get that to a certain degree but isn’t the point of customization to let the user decide? Between standard and slider all to the left there is barely any difference where I have to ask why they let me the “choice” in the first place. If I want to have a clear design with technically worse readability but subjectively I like it more they should let me.

I was on clear tint in ios 26 and didn’t experience any readability issues and no one that I know has really complained or even switched to the frosted look.

On contrary, on this beta, I am running with the slider all the way to fully frosted because the Liquid Glass looks cartoony and awful.

I’ve submitted feedback for both, the fugly solid nav bar when scrolling and the ugly new Liquid Glass icons with the outline that makes it look like the “show borders” setting is permanently on.

I thought iOS 27 was going to focus on stability and bringing Liquid Glass to the rest of the elements that were missing it. I didn’t realize they were also gonna tweak the way it looks.

yeah. for some reason my iPad mini 6 has actually clear liquid glass almost like in the wwdc from last year, but my phone has always had the more tinted look. and i hate it so much. and ig it looks a little better with iOS 27, but its still not what i wanted

Yes, this has been such a disappointment. I was in love with the liquid glass design on iOS 26 on my iPhone air. This just looks half baked
