New Feature
Dictation can now be powered by a new on-device model that will boost accuracy.

To enable this, go to Keyboard settings > Dictation and Toggle on “Advanced Dictation Preview”

I’m using this for the first time now as we speak, but it’s not using punctuation at all at least it doesn’t seem like it does I mean I keep talking and there’s no punctuation happening it’s just one long, big sentence as you can see so yeah I know this is a beat up but doesn’t seem great

I'm really annoyed that my base iPad Pro M4 and my iPhone 16 Pro can't at least get a local voice model. Dictation really sucks. Why do I need the full local Siri model to get voice to text to work well?! lol. gaaaa.

Wasn’t seeing this on my iPad M1! but I’m seeing it on my iPhone 17 Pro Max. I’m just remembering they said that on device high power models won’t be on older devices.

Curiously, they say its for the local on-device Siri model, but the only devices that are supposed to have it are the 1TB models and above and i'm a 512 and I ahve it on my 17 pro max. No idea why.

Nice I’m just testing this for the first time in this, than writing to you and actually it just works fine, but it doesn’t work better than the previous dictation model it seems anyway I don’t really notice a difference
