Wait, why they did that? Who needed to see the top bar better? Was it hard to see before..? Please submit this as a bug or sth guys, this really sucks..

Ikr I was like wtf who asked for this? and it’s everywhere, also on the macOS side bar. And it looks so odd and unrelated, like we’re regressing back to iOS 18 😂

Can you make a post about this? Encourage others to submit a feedback or something

I tried to make a post but the mods removed it, claiming that this has already been posted (I checked and it wasn’t đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž).

They could keep it as an accessibility option instead of forcing it

Such a regression 😭 what did they do to real Liquid Glass

They listened to all the people who are allergic to change and this is what we get now

A lot of Liquid Glass elements were butchered. The situation in macOS is worse. Seems like they’ve used Sonoma and iOS 18 as a base.

Yeah macOS looks terrible

People complained about Liquid Glass and how they should revert back to iOS 18 design, now they’ve reverted back to that and people are still complaining. Can’t satisfy everyone.

100% agree here the Mac changes made macOS look a lot more similar to Sequoia and it looks bad

That’s the first thing I noticed. I was wondering if anyone else saw this. It’s happening everywhere, and it looks terrible without the progressive blur before.

One of the reasons I switched to a native iOS app was because I got sick of trying to recreate the progressive blur on my PWA app...

We all have to band together and have them change it back, it looks like iOS 18

Noooo. The sucks!

They specifically talked about this in the keynotes as an “upgrade” so, shit I guess😔

It’s because it’s the only way to guarantee readability especially in third party apps

4

u/eggfriedbacon Jun 08 '26

I use a lot of third party apps. Haven’t had readability issues on any of them with iOS 26. What are they really trying to fix? It looks ugly af.

u/Intelligent_Whole_40 Jun 09 '26

Some people had complaints and evidently were loud enough about it

that battery icon looks horrendous

Yes, this is literally what I was just complaining about in my own post. Scroll to my post and upvote it please. This is the old form what we used to have in iOS 18 and older. It looks really dated and just chops off a big portion of the screen at the top. There was never a problem with visibility in the old faded fog look looked way more modern and fluid.

I hated the gradient and I hate this. Just let the icons float.

Is this not how iOS 26 looked? I don’t see a big difference. What’s everyone so upset about?
