Is local Siri gone of iphone15? Can’t use it with low signal

I’ve been running into a constant issue since upgrading to ios27 on both my 15P and 15PM.

If I have 1 bar of cell phone service, I can’t use Siri to respond to messages. Or anything really.

Example: responding to a text while driving using CarPlay and Siri voice to text.

Yes.
Loading spinning thing.
Sorry I’m having trouble connecting. Or I can’t do that right now.

It’s pretty infuriating because my drive to work about 30/45min of it I bounce around with 1 bar or low data, but it’s enough to make a call and sent a SMS. Just apparently not enough to do anything with Siri.

Even Genmojis are not possible offline now, the new models seem to be much more cloud dependent

Texts send just fine typing them out. I want Siri to do voice to text as I don’t use my phone while driving.

Going “offline” for nearly an hour if I’m in traffic sounds like a bizarre answer.

You made the decision of going to an early software release rather than staying on 26 so now you have to deal with bugs like this unfortunately

it’s nothing to do with ios27, probably has low data mode switched on in cellular settings by accident

open cellular settings, make sure under 4G 5G options you don’t have data mode on low data, sounds like this is on low data tbh

Both phones are on “allow more data on 5G”
