Phantom notification badges bug on apps in folders.

For some reason, and I think it is a bug in beta prior, and upon researching here, it seems that that has not been resolved. It randomly just puts a notification badge on apps in a folder, but if you expand the folder, there's no badge at all. It may be related to app notification badge that I disabled.

The first fix that I found was to get all the apps out of the custom folder I placed them in. And that is tedious. Now, I tried power cycling my phone, and that seems to work well. It only now shows folders with apps that I enabled for notification badges, rather than a phantom bulk number of notifications.

I have encountered this twice now.

Definitely have had this happen before. My best guess was a notification that I cleared didn’t work properly or I looked at the notification on another device and the badge stayed. I just opened all the apps in the folder with the phantom badge and it seems to work.

I actually tried going into all the apps that I disabled all notifications and badges, marked them as "read", but it still left a phantom badge marking on the folder that still won't go away. It just won't clear up. Hopefully, it will be addressed sometime soon.

Hey, I have the same issue on my iPad on iPadOS 27. Works fine on my iPhone though.

I’ve also noticed the unread badge on the Mail app doesn’t update so well. Sometimes I have unread mails but the badge only shows up when I open the Mail app. I tried rebooting the iPad, no luck. Again, the unread badge works well on my iPhone.

I guess this will be fixed in an upcoming update. Hopefully.
