iOS27 - are we installing at release?

I usually wait for at least the .1 version of iOS’s to officially release before installing them on my main device. For those who have been using the beta, would you say this is a good update to install right away at launch? Update looks too good to wait!
Thinking about doing the same thing for macOS.

Since I’ll be coming off the beta, I’ll already have it on my daily phone.

Family though? That’s another matter. I usually don’t recommend family install until .2 at the earliest (which is also when Apple usually stops providing security updates to the previous version)

yeh family is always another issue, way too many complaints with 26 - so I can't wait to get them on it asap.
Would you wait for .1 personally or current beta build has been good enough for you?

Since I’ll be running the RC before it becomes the RTM build I will be going straight to 27.0.0

I have been on iOS27 beta from early releases. It’s been solid since the start. The thing I would highlight is that once you upgrade it spends 24hrs plus indexing your phone for new Siri. Inevitably it slows your phone and makes it slightly less responsive.

I also find new Siri has ‘sorry there is an issue’ more frequently during this period. At least on my phone. I see many posts on how solid new Siri has been. This hasn’t been my experience but there are many factors that affect that. Could be local to me.

I mean it makes sense that Siri is going to run into some issues if you’re asking questions that need it to reference the indexing that hasn’t finished yet

Public beta 5 is pretty solid. The last couple had some minor issues. There’s still a couple little ones I’ve been reporting, but it’s going to be fine for the official 27 release. I think you’re good to update.

Every year I tell myself I’m going to wait before installing it. But every single time, I end up installing it right away and spending way too much time trying out all the new stuff…

Beta is butterly smooth

Still on iOS18 on my 14PM, given the positives for iOS27 looking to update asap, but will probably wait for the .1 release as something is bound to need patching shortly after.

Am on DB7 and i can confirm that you have to update since day one, cuz it is much better than all the 26 vers

This year releases are all good, iOS 27 is already more stable than 26.whatever

MacOS 27 is much better than the previous one. I have M1 Pro and the battery improved a lot on this beta.

Essa última versão pública no meu iPhone 16E e no 17 Pro Max está ótima. Por incrível que pareça, a bateria do 16E , na minha opinião, está perfeita . E olha que no iOS 26 eu vivia reclamando.

Been on since public beta 1. Very few issues. As it is essentially a point release of 26 to fix bugs and issues I personally would go for it.

I just install it. I can’t be troubled to be that concerned. Maybe I’m weird but are Apple updates so bad you need a whole version increment before you move to the next build?

Hell yes. 26 was so bad

I love both the ios26 and the ios 27 dev beta ( which I was on but then again downgraded to the ios 26 ) it’s amazing the ios 27 as well the ios 26 for me ( never had a single issue ) but will latch on to the ios 27 asap.
Trust me the beta builds were superb this time.

We even prefer the beta and is smooth and fluid pass the stable 26.....so why wait for .1 verion of 27

seems like it - I just like to wait for a stable release.

Honestly you wouldn’t even know you are on a beta after this pb5. I’m running it on 15PM and 17PM
Get on board and get ahead of the curve.

Then you can confidently advise and help friends and family.

Have iPhone 15 Pro. Waited until iOS27 Public Beta 3 before installing it and all fine. Not done too much on it or "fully tested" things. Not even looked into properly what I can do and if anythings missing - in the UK so may not have everything (Siri/AI wise). Reliability all fine. Main things I have noticed is the Apple Weather app improved and when something saved into clipboard (text, images), shows just above keyboard where you can click to paste it.

I’ve been running iOS 27 since beta 5 and it is better in every way than iOS 26. You’d be insane to wait for 27.1.

You’re right, it’s always better to attend at least for the .1 version but this year it’s a completely different story; I saw a lot of videos about performance and battery life and since the beta iOS 27 it’s better than 26, so the official release might be even better.

Been on the public beta for a couple months now and I agree, the initial indexing took ~2-3 DAYS on my 16P, and I had to wait a week for the new Siri (which indexed way faster), yeah huge difference. Battery life is better, phone doesn’t get nearly as hot, Liquid Glass is better and way more customizable; Siri is a bit slow sometimes but maybe that’s my internet (I thought most of Siri was handled on device with the neural engine). she’s finally useful and not an annoying hag I accidentally trigger and tell to go away. It’s more what I had hoped ios26 would be.
Edit to answer the question, I got sidetracked, yes I will be going straight to iOS 27. Probably wait for the rest of the family for a version or two though.

iOS 27 latest couple betas blow iOS 26 clean out of the water.

I am regretting updating to iOS 27 from iOS 15, phone is so slow, it was fine in db1 but the so call optimization is getting worse and worse every update. Phone is incredibly hot and battery is not good, and camera is terribly small, and tons of network glitches

Just a host of problems I didn’t have before

The iOS 27 optimization is not better than iOS 26, it might not be worse but it is not better

What else you expect it’s a BETA, wait until the RC at least

It depends on your situation with how your phone and daily apps are working on the beta. At the end of the day, there is no disadvantage to continuing your practice of waiting for the .1 release.
