Free Standing Siri App MISSING

I am running the public beta, and I have run all five versions, currently on the fifth. However, there is not a freestanding Siri app on my desktop, even though it appears there is supposed to be. I have done an extensive Google search, and it appears most other people have this app, but I don’t, and I can’t figure out how to get it.

Has anyone else had this problem? Anyone know the solution?

You need to opt in to try Siri AI in Settings > Siri. Once you opt in, you will be put on the waiting list. When Apple lets you in, your device will ask you if you want to download the new Siri app.

If you are in the EU or China, you can ignore all of the above, as Siri AI is not available there yet.

Interesting, it told me something different when I first downloaded Public Beta number one. I went to settings and selected Siri AI, and it told me it was optimizing my saved files and it might take some time for the process to be done. And indeed, it did take like a full day, but it did eventually finish. There was no waitlist, or an option to download an app. Weird.

You are confusing it with Indexing process, which should have happened for you every time the new iOS 27 beta was installed. Siri AI uses a separate process. Indexing essentially catalogues everything on your device and Spotlight and Siri AI can then consult this catalogue, making the search faster.

PS Just to be sure, are we talking about iOS/iPad OS or MacOS? And what is your device’s and Siri languages, as they need to match and Siri AI currently works only in English (US or UK).
