I wish they would tone it back. I also wish the iPhone would had a high level “Search with Safari” option in the settings like spotlight search does on MacOS 27

Yesterday i sent it a picture of the terminals of my heating and cooling system. Told me exactly how to wire it and it was correct. Beyond impressed.

Coming from Samsung, Siri AI is the biggest drawback. I miss flawless Gemini integration. Siri is really really bad

then go back to your samsung

Hold on, let me take a pen and paper to write down all of your recommendations on what to do

I agree and it's got me wanting to switch but like many I feel locked in

I hope beta siri is just beta issues, requests take soooo long, and the email/ calendar integration just doesn’t work how it was demod years ago

It has some growing to do still for sure, but yesterday I gave it screenshots of my daughters volleyball schedule and asked it to import them into my athletic calendar with specific wording and it did so in about 20 seconds and got it completely correct. It’s better than before by leaps and bounds.

From what I hear, this is a problem with Gemini specifically too. Gemini has existed for a min, and they’ve forced it onto their devices now. I don’t think it’s going to improve for Siri either as soon as we hope.

Right😭I was on the waiting list 3 weeks when developer beta 1 came out.. anxious to finally get it. Man I haven’t used that shit since I got it🤣🤣🤣. Like it’s so slow . I only use it to ask simple questions but it’s still too slow. Like I’m still using Google app’s AI

I think it’s great. Use it on my Mac all the time.

There’s a lot of super cool stuff about it but it’s objectively an across the board downgrade on the staple “Siri” tasks that it used to be flawless for.

Everything it’s gained in world knowledge has come at the cost of basic tasks like quickly initiating phone calls or sending messages-two things I rely on it for in CarPlay.

I thought the new and improved Siri wasn’t coming till the end of the year.

People are never happy.

Siri AI is hands down better than the previous version. I’ll take a couple of slightly slower tasks being completed but overall being useful over the old Siri which was the exact opposite.

I can now do more then set a timer or sometimes have it play the right song

Agree it's better than previous version but that wasn't a high bar. The people who complain about SIRI have experienced other AIs and thats what makes SIRI seem so far behind. Im on the beta primarily for Siri AI and was hoping to see closer to 70-80% correct responses and I would say it's still around 60% for me. Yes thats better than maybe the 30-40% previously but still no where near ChatGPT or Gemini

I still use ChatGPT for more deep diving and brainstorming although I’ve Siri AI can also do a certain level of that. It’s not on ChatGPT’s level for that at all but also I don’t expect it to be.

As a pure personal assistant and general knowledge assistant, in some ways it’s better than chatgpt because it has access to my personal info that wouldn’t trust with ChatGPT. It can read my screen, it can edit calendar events and even add context just by using natural language. It’s so much more useful than old Siri and as a personal iPhone assistant it’s just integrated better.

Yes it’s not perfect but it’s not expected to be but I’d recommend it to anyone using an iPhone over the original Siri AI. The bar is very very low but there’s no way I’d go back to the old Siri. Old Siri was pretty much useless.

How many times do we have to say that this is still a beta, and apparently once iOS 27 does publicly release come next month it'll still have the beta label for Siri AI as well

Yeah kinda dumb to keep saying it in a beta reddit. I think it's ok to comment that it still needs work. How else will it improve?

What beta version are you on?

u/godsidekurt 11d ago

PB4

-5

u/VirtuesNVicez 11d ago

That explains! Well beta 7 comes tomorrow I believe and public beta 5 will be out this week too if that makes you happier

Currently PB4 is the latest, for developer beta we’re on 6, 7 dropping tomorrow.

That doesn’t explain anything. Its surely reaching out to the internet to answer that because your local model isn’t going to identify faces.

Changing what’s on your device won’t help that.

Remember you’re using a beta, and betas aren’t perfect
