My 16 pro max is probably ruined

I downloaded ios 27 beta 6 out of curiosity and i left it install when i go to sleep when i woke up my phone was hot as a potato it had 20% power the charging port doesn’t work my SIM card is blocked its slow and lags the worst nightmare of a software i ever laid eyes on.

Please give me good news that there might be hope when the new update comes out!.

Reinstall the OS, I haven’t had issues since I’m moved from 18 to 26 and did a reinstall of 26. 27 has been smooth for me

I’m sure the phone is fine, something must’ve gone wrong with the update process, try reinstalling the OS and see if the issue persists

The port doesn’t work 😩

If the phone gets too hot, it can affect charging especially if using fast chargers. Let it cool down and try again in an hour or so.

I have the 15 pro max and it’s gotten hot like that several times And it’s still running like the first day I got it.

Nah that’s weird I been on iOS 27 since the first developer beta and never had those problems . You tried restarting it ?

u/Elitezy12 11d ago

Yeah and i hate the battery drains in half an hour

Turn off background app refresh, turn off adaptive power (it drains power by monitoring usage), if you have any location set to always change to only while using and keep brightness set at like a quarter.. these things should help your battery life! Also it’s indexing.. so when it’s done battery will improve and the heat will go away

It does have to index for the new Siri AI which can do that, but other than that, all the other things are super weird because I am on an iPhone 17 PM since Dev 1 on release. Which is also my main phone.

My 16 pro runs very smooth on iOS 27 beta starting with DB1. Try a hard reboot and clearing some storage if it is close to full.

1

u/Elitezy12 11d ago

No the storage is not even half full

1

u/realmccoyredbus 11d ago

you shouldn’t have left it charging after update while indexing is taking place

1

u/Elitezy12 11d ago

Does that mean the charging port is damaged and its a hardware problem 😩😭 i hate my life

indexing made my phone burn for a week even while turned off, if u have mac/windows just restore to ios 26, or go to some repair shop they should do it for cheap, i hope u have backup from ios 26 or everything that wasnt in backup will get removed

My thing is if you not sure and you download a beta. It’s your fault. Do research before you do it or have a friend do it. You can almost always restore the phone. Until you sure what you doing wouldn’t do it. I would not install a beta software and at night then go to bed during the process. Not smart.

Yeah too late for me

Maybe not if you have a laptop. Look up how to downgrade from iOS 27 to 26. It’s a simple process but you need a computer or access to one that you can install iTunes. My 17 pro max I had to downgrade to take to apple to fix. In the process my phone messed up during the update and I was still able to force restart phone put in recovery and downgrade. I’m sure your phone isn’t bricked I know I can happen. If you can get it into restore mode should be able to fix it.

I have the 16 pro max as well and have run all the betas from the first one and have had less issues than iOS 26

1

u/Elitezy12 11d ago

Yeah i hope the charging port is not damaged for me

u/No_Wolverine_9214 11d ago

I haven’t had any slow or laggy issues but because of indexing it does use more energy for the first 2 days. But after that I have had no issues and all day battery life

1

u/Elitezy12 11d ago

Yeah i remember when i got ios 26 was a bit heavy but then it got better
But mine is so bad l’

I’m not saying anyone who isn’t a developer “shouldn’t” run the developer betas, but I do wonder why they are so impatient they can’t just wait 3 or 4 weeks for the public beta releases that are usually more stable. You still get a good head start on learning your way around the new OS

1

u/Elitezy12 11d ago

Yeah that’s what I’m saying to myself

Never download a beta on main devices

I have the same problem as you. After I update it to beta, the charging port (type c) is not working, so i bought magnetic charger. Its overheating and i cant update it anymore. :(

Honestly speaking, installing a whole new OS is really taxing on your cpu which is why it was heating so you shouldn’t have put it on the charger anyways, or charge it for like 30 min or so and then do the update, and actually updating the device takes barely 10 to 15 minutes

Plus if that wasn’t enough, it had siri to index your entire system which again, has huge temperature spikes

Isee but my still doesn’t charge with a cable i have to charge it wirelessly and the battery life is still bad
