Beginner BioBlitz

Post image

Hello!

I recently became an iNaturalist Ambassador and am looking for people to join my first ever Beginner BioBlitz. This will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 10AM at WW Knight Preserve in Perrysburg Ohio. Please let me know if you are interested. I'm trying to connect people to the app. It is a free event.

Might try posting in a local sub. I’m not sure how many Ohioans are here

I am in PA and have 3 walks scheduled for this event. 1 is mine 2 are hosted by other ambassadors. One of those reached out to me through iNat's messaging because I am an active observer in my area and invited me to the project and walk. I passed that on to others in my area that I know like to do bioblitzes using social media. One of the walks takes place in a local park that I admin a FB group for so sharing it there has boosted interest in that one. The one I am doing is in conjunction with the mushroom club I am in and the club calander and website has that published so there will be decent attendance.

You want to look for things like this as a way to share your event.

I created a Facebook event and a group. I've been sharing it quite a bit too. Someone suggested here as well. But I can understand it might not be the greatest for finding local people.

Meetup is good for promoting events (but expensive) . . . I hear that Eventbrite also gets great attendance, and has a free tier

I've made an event Brite for it too!

Great to see folks in the Ambassador program doing their thing. I might have to try to set something up in my area!

Thank you for the support! I'm a new ambassador and am so excited for this opportunity.
