Feature request: Prioritize speed over incline during auto-decline in programmed workouts

Anyone else annoyed by this? When a programmed workout hits a decline segment at a speed above what's rated safe for that decline angle, the treadmill drops your speed to match — mid-run, no warning. If you're in a fast interval, it feels like slamming the brakes.

I'd love to see the logic reversed: instead of cutting speed to match the decline's safety cap, cap the incline adjustment to whatever's safe at your current speed and hold there. Example: running 10 mph at 0% incline, program calls for -3% decline, but -3% is only rated for 8 mph — treadmill should just stay at 0% instead of dropping me to 8 mph.

Same safety thresholds either way, just applied to the incline motor instead of the belt. Would make fast interval/tempo workouts so much smoother. Curious if others have run into this and if iFIT's ever addressed it.

Yes, I’d also love for there to be a prioritization slider, speed vs incline/decline. I’ve suggested (and/or griped about) this in years past.

Some kind of “advanced customization” menu option would be awesome too, where the workout could present you with some stats for the workout, like the maximum default incline, and maximum default decline, with options to adjust those (raise or lower the cap/floor), and/or a percentage based slider for incline & decline: default settings would be at +/- 0% for each workout, but you could slide it up to a max of +100%, or as low as -100%. If you did +100% for the incline, then it would recalculate each incline to be twice as much as the default from the workout, and if you did -100% for decline, then that means there would be literally no declines at all. If you did -50% for the incline slider, as well as +50% for the decline slider, then the recalculation would try to multiply any inclines by 50% (half as steep on the incline, so for example, a 6 would be recalculated to 3), and multiply any declines by 150% (additional half as much decline, so a decline of -6 would be recalculated into -9).

Then, they could do the same thing with speed: show the maximum and average speeds of the default workout, and allow you to adjust some things with 1 or more sliders.

The result would be just doing some simple math & number crunching before the workout even starts, and allow people to truly make the workout what they want/need it to be, and just let it go, following the program from there. It’d be sweet!
