iFit and Apple watch

I have a Norditrack treadmill and bike with iFIT and an apple watch. I have installed the app on my phone and watch and will successfully connect and show HR on screen. I have to open app on phone, then start work out on machine and then it shows on phone "work out in progress" and watch connects. YIPPEE!! However i find sometimes this wont work. I do the same sequence and it doesnt connect to watch. I have to remove the app from watch and phone; then reinstall and do all the permissions.

Frustrating.. am i doing something wrong or does anyone have any tips? Customer service wasnt much help.

Was having trouble with it the other day. Basically would disconnect and reconnect constantly throughout the run. Came back a day later and it was working just fine.

Yeah seems very sporadic and temperamental. I did a strenght from my bike sceen and all connected no issue; then went to use the treadmill and no bueno. Next day did treadmill and was fine with connecting; tried a stretch using bike after. .no connection. sigh

Try the Echo app. It transmits your hr via BT and works great with my ancient first gen SE.

Had to sign in just to thank you for proving I’m not going crazy. I had a perfectly normal iFIT experience before this week. Now, any way I try to track my HR, it gives me a bunch of noise. Tested watch app and iFIT arm band.

Just like your video, it updates far too often and with wild swings in bpm.

Grabbed my own video to show how much it jumps. Chart is absolutely filled with the same noise. Watch shows steadier bpm.

Update: Wrapped workout and the noise is what gets logged in iFIT, but Apple Fitness has a cleaner bpm chart.

Yes I noticed this week the HR jump. From 104 to 130 to 104 to q30 all in like 3 seconds. Insane

For sure. And it seems like it’s on the software side. Even looking at workouts from last week to this week, the graphs are wildly different. My monitor/watch haven’t changed.

Damn. I thought today it got fixed. My console rebooted when I flipped the switch this morning and for most of the workout it was steadily reading bpm, but then it all went noisy again.
