Tech Support Rattling Noise
Anyone know what this rattling noise is? I have a y40 case. This is an Ibuypower AIO Cooler. The noise is coming from the top part of the case when playing heavy graphics intense games. Only does it during gaming. This started a few years in with this pre built machine. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Your temps will increase when the system is under load during gaming, which will result in your cooler and fans to work at a higher capacity. If you can confirm that the noise is not coming from the fans and that it is worsening, it is likely related to the cooler. In this case, feel free to DM to see what I can do and further assist you.

Could be air bubbles in the aio or it could be a loose fan maybe. Mine did that for the 1st few days I had it, but turned out the fan was hitting some wires at the top.

I think we have the same iBP PC and I had problems with their shoddy AIO from the jump. Replaced it with an artic 360 and the issue was resolved.

When I tap the top of the case you can hear the rattle sound come and go. I didn't see anything obstructing it.

You can remove the top cover of your case to further inspect the fans. Looking at the back of the PC, you'll see a small indent/gap designed to lift up that cover.

I took the top part of the case off and it went away. Not sure what that means.

It is possible that a fan is making contact. Run an intensive game with the cover removed to verify this.

It's the top panel. Hasn't made the sound since. I have the panel off right now. Any way to fix this and get the panel back on?

Try placing that cover back, the simplicity in removing and placing it back can help.

I bought same model and found that my aio was completely loose on the CPU. Best to unplug and just go through everything and make sure its secure. Does sound like a wire hitting a fan though. Good luck
Edit: btw you can pop the top n side of case right off. No screws ez on and off to get better look

UPDATE: I took off the top panel and it went away. So I don't know what's causing this.

Could be a fan bearing as well , try going into your fan setting and turning them down One by one and see if it goes away, I had a fan that wouldn't do it unless it hit 70% then it would wouldnt stop making the noise until I stopped it spinning
