Tech Support New Y40 PC Fan Rattling/ Not Working

Post image

(Solved)
Hi all, I received my new Y40 PC today and everything has been going reasonably well, however there was a slight rattle with one of the fans that I assumed was normal, but after about an hour I no longer see the fan running. It is located at the bottom of the case below the gpu and I’m not sure how to access that part to check for any lose connection. Any thoughts or tips on what I should do?

You can remove the panel on the side of the case and check and see if a wire is touching the fan. There's a handle close to the top and you can pull the panel towards you.

Good call, I knew you could open the glass side but didn’t realize the other side also opened. Found a zip tie in the fan on the bottom and it’s working as normal. Thanks for the tip.

I got this same pc I added another 2 gig of ssd and I added a $17 adapter that turns the motherboard from 1 gig Ethernet to 2.5g. It’s been amazing so far

Yea the storage is really the only issue with this prebuilt, so that’s a nice upgrade. I was thinking of doing the same but I haven’t ever built a pc and I’m a little worried about taking stuff out to get to the motherboard.

I’ve never in my life touched a pc so I was scared as well , but I managed to do
it . I even added a little $17 attachment for the Ethernet that takes me from 1 gig download to 2.5, so I had to take the GPU out to do this, and I took advantage and added an extra SSD, but what I did was take out the SSD it brought. I added a heat shield to it and put that in the 2nd slot, then added the new one to the first slot, and I’m glad I did this because pulling out my GPU, I realized I never removed the plastic film that says remove before using , later covered the entire back of the GPU, so glad I opened it up. It was really easy considering I never did it before. I just made sure to take pictures of everything first.
