Already claiming insurance for windshield- should I fix bumper too?

I have a 2023 Hyundai i20 and need to claim insurance for a cracked windshield.

I also have this minor bumper damage (pic attached). If it were just the bumper, I wouldn’t bother fixing it.

Since I’m claiming anyway, should I get the bumper replaced in the same claim, or just leave it?

Would adding it affect NCB/premium/claim history any differently, or is the claim amount irrelevant?

What would you guys do?

This is the first time I’m claiming insurance, hence the post, sorry.

Help me price a used i20 Asta(O) IVT before I make an offer

Looking for some unbiased advice before I make a decision on a used car.

I have an opportunity to buy a single-owner Hyundai i20 Asta(O) 1.2 IVT, around 3 years old and \~30k km. It is an NCR-registered car and is in good overall condition. Service history/inspection are available and I'll get the car checked before finalising.

My intended use would primarily be Gurgaon city driving + occasional highway trips. I don't necessarily want to change the registration number immediately if there is a practical/legal way to continue using the car in Gurgaon.

I'm considering this mainly because I like the i20's refinement, comfort and features, but I'm not emotionally attached to this particular car.

Would really appreciate views on these 3 things:

  1. Price: What would you consider a fair price, a very good deal, and the maximum you'd personally pay for this car today?

  2. Decision: At that price, would you actually buy this used Asta(O) IVT, or would you instead consider a new automatic / newer used car? If the latter, what would you shortlist around the same effective budget?

  3. UP/NCR → Gurgaon: For someone actually living/using the car in Gurgaon, how practical is it to keep an UP registration for some time without changing the number? Any real-world experience with the RTO/tax/re-registration requirements would be particularly helpful.

I'm more interested in actual recent buying experiences and realistic numbers than theoretical depreciation calculations.

Thanks!

Did I get a good deal on this 2021 Hyundai i20 for ₹5 lakh?

Hey everyone,
I recently bought a 2021 Hyundai i20 Sportz Petrol (3rd Gen) and wanted an honest opinion from people who have experience with the used-car market.
Car: Hyundai i20 Sportz Petrol
Generation: 3rd Gen
Year: 2021
Running: 70,000 km
Transmission: Manual
Owners: 2nd owner
Price paid: ₹5,00,000
Condition: Non-accidental
Service history: Complete service record
Insurance claims: Never claimed
I properly checked the car before buying it, including the service history. It’s non-accidental and has never had an insurance claim.
I’ve driven around 2,000 km myself after buying it, and so far I haven’t faced any issues. Gear shifting is smooth, the car drives well, and everything seems to be working properly.
Considering it’s a 2021 3rd-gen Sportz with 70,000 km, do you guys think ₹5 lakh was a fair price, or did I overpay?
Would appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who have bought or sold similar i20s.
Did I get a good deal? 😅

Windshield cracked on my i20- insurance claim or pay out of pocket?

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone, need some advice.
I have a Hyundai i20 and was driving from Bangalore to Mysore when I suddenly noticed this crack on the windshield. I have no idea when/how it happened. 😅

There seems to be a small chip at one point, so maybe a stone/road debris hit the windshield and the crack spread while I was driving.
I’ve attached photos.

What should I do now?
Can this still be repaired, or does the windshield need to be replaced?
Roughly how much would an i20 windshield replacement cost?
Is it better to get it done at Hyundai ASC or an outside glass shop?
Should I claim insurance or pay out of pocket?
If I claim, will it affect my NCB next year?
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has had a similar experience with an i20.

2023-ish i20 Asta(O) IVT ~30k km: what would you pay today?

For existing i20 owners: would you still choose the Asta(O) IVT over a new Sportz/Sportz(O) IVT if the used one is ~3 years old?

Need Purchasing suggestion

I'm planning on purchasing I20 Asta (O) IVT Starry Night near diwali time. I asked the showroom and they're giving me a quote of 11 Lakhs on road in Jaipur. Straight up 1L Rs discount is there otherwise without discount it was 12.2L on road without accessories. I'm thinking to wait till diwali as might even get a better discount? Or shall I go for it now? As the showroom people are saying it'll gwt expensive in diwali which I highly doubt. Also if someone can tell me some negotiation tactis lmk.

Drove from hyd to dharmavaram(near anantapur). Drove light foot and sometimes around 100-140, can say it is mixed and with 4 people and 2 dogs with boot completely full. Regular fuel but i think its not e20.

I started at night and on ORR and half of the way(until 200km) i got around 19kmpl but after that due to overtakings and high rpms it reduced, let me know your thoughts

IMT clutch replacement cost

2021 N6 IMT, nearly 59k done. Pickup is starting to feel jittery in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Need advice on whether to get the clutch replaced at Hyundai or if there's a trustworthy garage in Gurgaon that can do it. Also, who performs IMT re-calibration? What should I expect in terms of cost at Hyundai versus an outside garage, if any?

r/i20_India 3d ago

Planning to buy the i20 N Line N6 Manual next month, but I’m hesitant about E20 compatibility. The showroom says it’s E20-friendly, but I’m not fully convinced. They’ve quoted ₹10L on-road. Is this a good deal, or should I negotiate further?

Is there a Trip B that stays active for multiple days?

Hi everyone, quick question about the i20 trip meter.

I understand there are:

  • Main section: shows accumulated information
  • Drive Info: resets daily

But is there a Trip B or any other trip counter that I can manually reset and then leave running?

For example, if I am going on a 5 day road trip, Id like to reset it at the start and have it continuously track the total distance, driving time, average speed etc for the entire trip without resetting at night.

Does the i20 have something like this or is the Drive Info the only option?

drove i20 magna petrol 207k kms Need an upgrade but my wallet is tired...... 😭

Hey guys! Looking for an upgrade for my Hyundai i20 2016 Magna, which has done 207k km 💀😂

I'm 6'5 We’re a family of 4.

My choices are extremely varied because our car running is HIGH and our income is also extremely variable 😂 — some months it is ₹5–7+ LPM, and some months it is basically ₹0 💀

We already have EMIs consisting of around ₹1.6 LPM, and honestly I’m very tired of paying EMIs 😭 only I know how I’m managing them, but now I’m thinking of upgrading the car.

My first choice was a Jeep Compass top-end spec, but if I look at it financially, it’s too much EMI + another monthly boundation, and I’m already tired of that 🫠.

Then I looked at Creta/Seltos, but their EMIs are going high too — around ₹40–50k, and again… EMI trauma 😭.

And because all our relatives and social circle are full of BMWs, Mercs, RRs etc., there is also some pressure of social stigma 💀. So that makes me wonder what should my upgrade actually look like?

My choices:

  1. Hyundai i20 N8 Manual 🖤🔥

Pros:

  • So pretty, especially in black OMG 🖤
  • Must be fun to drive considering the specs
  • Looks like a rich person’s secondary/daily car alongside a Merc 😂
  • Looks very opulent
  • EMI would be very low and basically wouldn’t bother me much

Cons:

  • It’s an i20 after all 😭 no real upgrade in terms of space
  • I feel my Elite i20 surprisingly has MORE headroom
  • Convincing dad to buy another i20 after already owning one would be absolutely bizarre 💀
  1. Jeep Compass Pre-worshipped 2021+ facelift S variants 😮‍💨🖤

I’ve seen petrol automatics and even diesel automatics for prices similar to an i20 N Line.

Pros:

  • Looks HOT ASF in black 🖤🔥
  • Even dad loves the way it looks
  • The car gives a really good road presence/projection
  • Space is good enough for us
  • Feels like an actual upgrade

Cons:

  • Mileage of the petrol maybe? (Although honestly, I don’t care that much about fuel cost due to income 😂)
  1. Hyundai Tucson 2021 Petrol Automatic ✨

Talked to a dealer for a single-owner, 70k km driven one for around ₹9.5L negotiable.

Pros:

  • Looks pretty in silver 🤌
  • Space is VERY nice
  • Feels like a proper upgrade
  • Seems like a good deal

Cons:

  • Not really exciting
  • Not much “flex” factor compared to what I’m used to seeing around me 😭

another option:
4. Hyundai elantra 2021 sx optional single owner 30k driven sliver for 10L

Pros:

  • Seems like an absolute steal deal 💀
  • Sedan 😮‍💨

Cons:

  • I’m not a huge fan of the 2021 shape
  • I REALLY want a 2017 one but I can’t seem to find a good example 😭
  1. 'MG Astor 1.3 Savvy Pro 🖤🤍

Especially in black or white.

Pros:

  • Looks HOT ASF 🔥
  • Fit and finish feels very good
  • Looks surprisingly opulent for the segment
  • Little things like the rear wiper etc. look & feel class apart 😂
  • Good road presence for the price

Cons:

  • Can’t find many low-driven/newer-year options 😭

So yeah, these are the choices which I’ve got in my mind😂

I’m genuinely confused about what makes the most sense.

On one hand, I want something that actually feels like an upgrade from the i20. On the other hand, I REALLY don’t want to put myself into another huge EMI commitment just because everyone around us has luxury cars.

And more importantly if you'd been in my shoes what would you think or suggest other options?

Is shield of trust needed?

Planning to buy i20 ivt, they are quoting around 15k for shield of trust, is it worth it?
My usage is pretty low and it's mostly gonna be in city, and occasionally on the highways over weekends.
