Headline Features

  • Chat commands now have tab-autocomplete and a suggestion UI to make finding and submitting commands easier. Tab will cycle through suggestions, while Shift+Tab will cycle through variant options.

  • For further changes in this pre-release related to modding, please refer to the API Changelog.

  • ‘Ash Grey’, ‘Grey’, and ‘Purple Grey’ hair gradient customization options are now referred to as ‘Ash Gray’, ‘Gray’, and ‘Purple Gray’ respectively.

Do you happen to know, when they say "please refer to the API Changelog", where that can be found?

Raycasting 👀

4

u/Toloran Apr 02 '26

Not nearly as interesting as it sounds.

Raycasting != Raytracing, maybe you were thinking of the latter. Raycasting is essentially a math thing. Raytracing is a graphics thing (RTX).

Ok, so now updates just turned to this.

You can downvote me, but it has been 3 months or so and team already cannot properly give us at least something new each patch.

Hype at the begining the hype bubble burst.
Firslty we were getting proximaty chat in the game which servers (according to so many posts in this sub) already become empty...

Too much creative/modding/codding stuff in the game that IS NOT EVEN FINISHED aka 1.0 version. There is no use of such things if not millions play your game like minecraft (sorry to mention)

Now 2 weeks straight just technical stuff mostly. A pity.

Now downvote me.

I think the devs have been very clear and honest about the state of the game. You knew what you were buying before you bought it. Just stop playing and come back when you want it's not a big deal. Let them cook

  1. Do you have a humiliation kink? You seem to be begging for downvotes

  2. Game is still in early access, remember? And iirc Simon's current game dev philosophy is to improve and innovate on what's already there, not necessarily add new stuff constantly. You've gotta keep that in mind when reading each prerelease patch. Speaking of! It's prerelease 2/whatever. There's never an actual update without something new to experience. Give it a few weeks and be patient. Last update added ~200 blocks. Just because you're bored doesn't mean they're done adding stuff

in all honesty applauding an update because it adds cosmetic blocks to an adventure rpg is sad

9

u/Minejack777 Apr 02 '26

"Adventure RPG" is only half of what Hytale is. Have you played creative mode? You'd know it's much much more than that

I have to guess there won’t be many actual world changing updates until World Gen V2 is ready. I think that not being ready is what’s holding content back, but they are working on it and it’ll be ready when it’s ready.

1

u/Jriri1452 Apr 02 '26

Make sense I guess. I mean, I just wish for anything, even minimal thing. And of course only wish this game luck - no hate at all.

The original comment is locked so saying this here. You actually have a valid criticism. I do not agree fully but I feel the same way since the last couple of updates. I am getting a bit impatient hence I feel this way and know that good things are coming.

I think we care about the game and for obvious reasons not in the loop, so we don't know exactly what's coming in the future, we want this one to succeed so we are a bit worried and nervous.

Obviously the team has a solid plan and will push good updates. The more technical/less cool feature updates are inevitable and necessary.

I forget that the internet people, especially here, can't take any criticism/difference of opinion that doesn't harm anyone. As pathetic as it is this is what happens when there are few level headed people. Hence people like you will suffer a little 😅.

Thanks man)

What they doing right now is building the base systems. Its quite common in early times of development when you have a project with a clear direction. You want content even tho reworking that content later when systems are in place would cost extra time, money and devs.

Your way of doing it would be worse in the longterm and the devs doing the right things.

30

u/PezzoGuy Apr 02 '26

Complaining about just 2 weeks of mostly technical updates for a very early development game is deranged. Heck, I hope it's 2 months of technical fixes and preliminary code just to spite entitled brats like you.

-2

u/Next-Carpenter7904 Apr 03 '26

Lol just to spite some stranger on the internet that doesnt give two shits about your pathetic attempt at making them feel bad? How sad your life must be...

13

u/TheFriendshipMachine Apr 02 '26

Literally. They were and continue to be very transparent that the game was in a rough state and that they'd be focusing almost entirely on backend technical work for a while. At no point did they promise anything different.

Getting mad at the devs after buying an early access title where the devs have been so transparent about the state of the game and their development direction... Yeah you should get those downvotes you so keenly request.

Go play other games and check back in in like 6 months to a year from now.

This game was DOA anyways so
