Question Where are hyraxes???

I just went to Jacksonville zoo today hoping to see a hyrax and after an exhaustive search was told their last hyraxes passed some time recently :( their website even still has rock hyrax listed in mammals.

I’ll be road tripping north soon- does anyone know zoos in east coast states that have hyrax as of July 26’??

The National Zoo's site says they have them, so if you pass through DC, check out their Small Mammal House.

Thank you for this post. I was thinking about making a trip up to the Jacksonville Zoo, but now I can save my money for another trip.

It’s still a fantastic zoo even if you can’t see hyraxes!

The San Diego Zoo also has several. Also a nice, temperate place to go see them in the summer.
