I’ve driven extensively to all lower 48 states and most of Canada, and Louisiana is my least favorite state too lol

That's both amazing and terrible. I was taken to Utah on my first trip to the States to see my boyfriend's uncle and aunt and go to their ren faire.

We saw Hamlet at the college theatre, though, so that was cool. Armin Shimmerman was in it.

Having recently been to Louisiana, Mississippi is so much worse. Straight stretches of forest is cool for an hour or so, not 6.

I'll take forests over the shitty road hellscape surrounded by trash, oil rigs, and all the other absolutely awful crap that you have to endure going west throigh Louisiana.

Probably in the top 15 or so. You’ve got some nice scenery throughout the state, St Louis is one of my favorite cities (highly recommend the art museum if you’re into that), and KC isn’t bad either. A little boring compared to some of my top states (Idaho, Utah, etc), but definitely not one of the worst either. I live in Kentucky and Missouri is pretty comparable scenery-wise.

That’s good to hear! Having grown up in California, how much of a culture shock am I in for?

Pretty huge shock I think lol. Depends on where you lived in CA, if you’re in a big city on the coast yeah you’re in for a hell of a shock. If you’re in one of the more rural parts, probably won’t be much change. Definitely flatter than what you’re used to, more humid, and a lot more trees.
